Hello. and thank you for your interest in this Volkswagen Beetle. I will do my best to give you a true and accurate description of this Beetle so you can bid with confidence. First off. you may have noticed the extremely low miles on the odometer.  Since these odometers only go to 99. 99 miles. you may think that it has "rolled over" with over 100k traveled. However. the mileage shown is the correct and actual mileage!  How could this be? This beetle was parked in the back of a building back in 1984.  For 30 years this Beetle has been sitting dormant while protected from the elements.  I aquired this Beetle when the owners' estate was liquidated after his passing.  This is a true original Beetle with matching chassis and body ID #'s. with the original engine as well.  According to the information on the Samba. com. this Beetle rolled off the assembly line in September of 1961. making in a 1962 model.   Chassis ID# 4172755 Body ID# 4172755 Engine ID# 5307178

The body of this Beetle is in great condition. The floor pans are super solid with no rot- even under the battery tray. The heater channels are also solid. Very solid where they join the door pillar with no holes or rot. The front 6"-12" of the groove on top of the door sills that hold the carpet has disintegrated on both sides.  All four fenders are solid with no major dents.  There is an area of rust about 1" long on the lip of the driver's side rain gutter. also a spot on the lower left of the rear window.  The only spot of rot is in the front clip. underneath the spare tire. where accumulating water rusted through the metal.  The car was repainted at some point before it was put in storage. There are imperfections in the paint. including areas of peeling and cracking. Small ding on the front hood under the chrome strip. The paint on the hood was peeling and has since been prefered. Window rubber and scrapers are in decent condition. All glass is original. except the windshield which must have been replaced at some point (no etching in glass).  Bumpers and running boards are all there and clean up well. Wide whitewall tires are all 30+ years old and I wouldn't advise a lengthy trip on them. Spare tire in trunk.
The interior condition of this Beetle is as follows.  The front and rear door panels are original and in very good shape. The headliner is original. but dirty. The paint on the dash appears to be original and is in good condition. Steering wheel is in good condition. Front and rear rubber floor mats are original and in pretty good condition. The passenger seat is original to the car. The drivers seat and rear seat are from a 1969 beetle and the covers are in rough shape.  I will include the bottom portion of the original drivers seat. as well as the original frames and padding of the rear seat (I also have a passenger seat from a '69 if you want it).
-The braking system was in rough shape from sitting so long. The following work has been performed to make them function properly: -All brakes have been disassembled. cleaned thoroughly and adjusted (including parking brake) -New steel brake lines all the way around -New rubber brake lines to wheel cylinders -New wheel cylinders at all four corners -New master cylinder
-Engine runs well after the following work was performed: -Oil change -New spark plugs -New spark plug wires -New points  -New distributor cap -New exhaust system (muffler and chrome tips) -New starter -Valves adjusted -28 pict carb has been cleaned and rebuilt (needs an air filter) -Other miscellaneous work: -New 6 volt battery -New fuel tank sending unit -New throttle cable -New wiper blades -Speedometer unit has been professionally cleaned and rebuilt  -New flasher relay

Additional information: -BOSCH VJR 4BR 25 distributor -Sapphire I radio (needs antenna)
-All lights work. with the exception of the interior dome light (I believe a bulb is needed)
  -Horn is not working
  -Fuel gauge works

Clean title in my name. Title states the car is a 1963. the DMV used the date the car was last titled as the year it was manufactured. I have a photo copy of the prior PA title. so there is a paper trail showing what happened.  Please keep in mind that this Beetle is over 50 years old and has not been restored. Even though it spent over half it's life safely tucked in a building. it still has a "patina" and is not a show car.  Please contact me with any questions. Thanks!
