1949 Ford convertible in outstanding original condition. I have never come across a shoebox body as clean. solid. and original as this. and its a convertible. This car is rock solid and straight. The only rust I can find is some bubbling on the bottom of both front fenders that you really dont see unless its on a lift. (pics below. ) The car retains all of its original undercoating throughout. It had one repaint 35 years ago in the original color of seafoam green. The paint under the trunk lid is still original. The engine and transmission were supposedly rebuilt at that time also. In the last few years the top and some of the weatherstripping were replaced. The brakes were just completely gone through as well as all of the convertible components. All of the chrome is original and shows some age. The paint is lacquer checked from age but has an excellent patina. (its hard to tell that the paint is not original) Interior was redone 35 years ago also and is still in great shape. All of the glass is original except for one windshield that was replaced many years ago. Runs and drives excellent. All of the gauges. lights. blinkers. radio and top work. heater blower does not. I cannot stress how nice the body on this car is. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer original example anywhere.
