I am selling my 1972 350SL r107 after about 5 yearsof ownership as I am now looking for something else to play with. It has been restored to a high standard in the past and still requires some attention in some areas which I with attempt to highlight below.

The engine is a reconditioned 4. 5L V8 which was purchased by a restoration company and fitted by a garage just before I bought it. The car had been completely stripped and re-sprayed and partially reassembled when I purchased it. I have spent years purchasing missing items to get it to the standard it is now. It drives extremely well with plenty of power and much of the running gear is new. If you look underneath you can see many new parts – callipers. bushes. exhaust. etc. The tyres are new and so is the battery. The windscreen and chrome surround is all new as this was missing when I bought it. The rear seats are new also.

It needs a tidy/clean up inside and new carpets in the cockpit and the boot. There are also a number of scratches on the new paintwork which occurred before I bought it. Some of these scratches are quite deep and will not simply polish out.  The hardtop is in good condition and the soft top. although reasonable. has two areas at the back which would need repairing.

The MOT runs until 11/03/2015 and it is road tax exempt. The insurance is cheap also – I pay £100 a year fully comprehensive. The mileage reads 45311 but I cannot verify if this is correct. There is a large folder of history so you may be able to verify the mileage from that.

This is not your usual 107 SL. There is no rust anywhere and I estimate with a bit of money spent it could be mint condition.

I am open to sensible offers and also would consider a part exchange or swap with something interesting in any condition – even a restoration or part finished restoration. Viewing is highly recommended – I am near Woking in Surrey. About 3 miles south of the M25 Junction 11.
