Up for sale is my 1965 Cobra replica. built by the only manufacturer to be recognized and authorized by Shelby: Superformance . This tremendous example was ordered and built in 1997. with a complete powertrain install done by world-renowned Shelby builders HRE Motorsports in NY. The previous owner was a Mercedes Benz dealer who had it in is private collection since 1998. and it was only driven 490 miles! This car looks like it's been in a bubble for it's lifetime. and still looks. smells. feels. and DRIVES like a new one.
Superformance celebrated it's 20 year anniversary in 2012. and they are the
benchmark
for Shelby replicas.
They are the only company to be authorized and recognized by Shelby. considered by Carroll himself to be the best alternative possible outside of an original Shelby car.
This particular Cobra has an extraordinary fit and finish. and was built and delivered as a rolling chassis to HRE Motorsports in NY. where the "heart" of the car was installed the SVO built. 500+hp 351 c. i. motor with alloy heads. side exit headers. a 750 Holley carb. and much more. H. R. E. Motorsports is well known throughout the Cobra world. having their hands in more Cobra builds than anyone else. and having involvement in the modern CSX cars as well. The build sheet for this powertrain. including the Tremec 5 speed manual. was over $12 k.
Condition-wise. this car is stunning from top to bottom. front to back. There is no stand out damage or imperfections. only light wear (if any) can be found. the whole car looks like new. Inside. the pattern continues. The wheels (true knock off's). the tires. and the seats all look new.
Drivability-wise. this car is unbelievable. It's tight. smooth. and seamless to drive. The 351 sounds amazing and the noise from the sidepipes gives you chills. but not headaches. This car. simply put. is amazing. It has a clean and clear Ohio title that shows it as a 1997. with the model designation "1965 Cobra". it has a 17 digit VIN and is absolutely ready to roll. It will be sold with the top and side windows. still in the plastic.
