Citroen H Van HY Rallonge (Extended body by CURRUS S.A)

This Auction is for a long bodied (Currus see plaque ) Hy van This van belonged to a firm of Parisian removers for over 35 years (they bought iy when it was 4 years old) and was used FOR their business. then laid up for quite a long time until purchased at the end of last year by our French friend for his collection
He's now been seduced by something else so wants to sell it. asking me to list it for him ( I speak fluent French and reasonably fluent H van being an H van nut myself - I almost bought it myself. but got waylaid by an older and much odder model. you can just see on the trailer on it's way to me. That one is not for sale!)

This van has a number of unusual features:

Steering lock ( see picture) Locking glove compartment the key provided locks this. back hatch and front door and side door

A nice set of new high quality reproduction aluminium embelishments : step footplates. front indicator surrounds and a side step on front drivers side wing ( total worth around £500 if you were to buy them separately)

It is a 1974 van ( could be tax exempt next year??) French documentation (carte grise) official French sales document are provided making it straightforward to import)

the Van is located in the Somme area of France and Michel welcomes any inspection- it can be collected from there or Michel will deliver it free of charge to the first services (British side!) after the Channel Tunnel

Everything works! The van runs and stops nicely. the brake flexible pipes have been renewed. the engine overhauled with new piston rings and reground valves. t has 5 good tyres 17 X 400 front and 19 X 400 rear Thecabin is worn but reasonable it boasts the original furniture protection padding in the load area with a good floor and sound wheel arches Chassis and subframe are good . odywork good for a well used van of it's age. Michel has welded/ repaired some panels. there are a few rough spots at places but it's a 40 year old van!The roof is a bit dinged . presumably by some over zealous furniture mover. but again nothing disastrous and it is watertight!Michel will sell the van with a recent French "controle technique" (Fench MOT )
