A TRULY EXCEPTIONAL AND RARE. UNMOLESTED NISSAN 300 ZX TWIN TURBO COUPE - ONE LADY
OWNER FOR EIGHTEEN YEARS!!
Purchased only recently from the renowned and well respected classic car specialist KGF Classic Cars in Peterborough. this outstanding. unmolested Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo coupe is now regrettably for sale.
Unfortunately its cosseting garage space has been taken by a far more delicate classic car of 1970's vintage and so this amazing supercar with an incredible service history and interesting ownership story needs to find another enthusiastic and caring owner.
The car as you can see from the pictures is finished in an understated and sophisticated Tempest Grey Graphite Pearl with a full black leather and suede/alcantara combination interior trim. just as it left the factory. As recently as August 2011 it enjoyed a comprehensive cosmetic refresh totalling almost three thousand pounds by the marque experts Zedworld who have known the car intimately for a number of years. The lovely interior has not been modified from the original high specification and in typical Nissan style. everything operates just as it should. even down to the electrically operated heated seats. digital climate control and fully functioning cruise control – superb! The original black carpets have clearly been protected by heavy duty overmats and so remain in near perfect condition. front to back. The original luggage compartment tonneau cover still retracts as it should and there is a full complement of tools – even the rare targa top sleeve covers are present and are neatly stowed away under the thick boot carpet when not in use. The condition of the bodywork is almost flawless – even the low. potentially vulnerable nose isn't peppered with the usual stonechips. This car really is better than almost any you could wish to find.
The four speed automatic gearbox with switchable overdrive suits the nature of this refined. powerful rear wheel drive performance GT car perfectly – it changes almost seamlessly whether you choose to cruise or to enjoy a more spirited drive. and unusually. according to official figures. this automatic version is marginally more economical on fuel than the manual car!
That said. it's still capable of excellent and exciting performance with a top speed limited to 155 mph and a 0-60 time in just a tad over six seconds. Where the automatic does score of course is in real world driving – its mid-range power delivery when the twin turbochargers spool up and the gearbox changes down in an instant is truly awesome for overtaking – it was mind blowing in its day and yet for such modest money today. there's little to touch it for that difficult to find blend of performance. reliability and style.
Of course. with such a special car the detail is also delightful. As mentioned before. the service history and records are quite exemplary and together with the original and complete document wallet they make quite a comprehensive file. In addition there are also perfect period brochures detailing all the exact specifications and performance figures and it all makes great reading.
Amazingly the original. ultra-light Titanium alloy ignition key is still with the car – another perfect detail to help make this car a real find for the investor. collector or enthusiast.
Still sitting on perfect. original style factory alloys. this unmolested UK supplied car with only 64000 miles is just lovely in every detail. With new 225/60 R15 Avon tyres fitted to the front less than 250 miles ago and good 245/45 16's fitted to the rear. this car is perfectly equipped and ready for the spring and summer shows or tours and it's taxed and tested through to September 2014 with a perfectly clear MOT.
Its ownership history is unusual and fascinating having been purchased new in 1994 by a gentleman from Oxfordshire.
At two years old and with a main dealer history. the car was purchased by a lady who continued with a main dealer care regime for a number of years and she subsequently owned it and enjoyed it for the next eighteen years!!
In her later years of ownership she discovered the aforementioned Zedworld. marque specialists and ZX experts and they too have been involved closely with the fastidious upkeep
The third keeper only had the car for a very short time as he was tracked down by the original owner who wanted to buy the car back again.
We all know that the power of nostalgia is an incredibly strong phenomenon and he did in fact buy the car back. perhaps to re-live his fond memories of almost twenty years ago. In his own typical style he took the car straight to his local Nissan main dealer who relieved him of almost £1000 for service work and a replacement targa rood panel seal plus some further small details. This was all completed as recently as November 2013.
Sadly. now in his sixties. he realised that his days of powerful GT motoring were perhaps behind him and so with a dream realised. with some reluctance. the car returned to KGF Classic Cars where I bought it unseen.
It really is as good as they said it was and will make the next enthusiast owner a very desirable motor car.
Currently wearing my own cherished registration. the car will be sold without this number and it will doubtless return to its original DVLA registration. The car is being used sparingly at the moment on fine weekends and for ‘special' days and is ready to be enjoyed straight away as it needs absolutely nothing. I plan to use it for a tour of the Cotswolds in mid May unless it sells in the meantime but it can be viewed at most reasonable times near Ilkley in West Yorkshire.

This 300 ZX will not be the cheapest car out there but neither is it the dearest and undoubtedly it is one of the very best.
