1975 VW Type 2 Late Bay Campervan RHD Oz Import

We are offering for sale our much loved 1975 VW Campervan. Our van started life in the more sunny climes of Australia and was imported to the UK in 2009 where it was given a fresh lease of life. We bought the van in the spring of 2010 and have had four wonderful years camping and touring with her.
Exterior

Being an Australian van it has the rare combination of being right hand drive and rot free. The interior and exterior paintwork has been recently re-done with a full professional paint job - all the panels are straight and there is no rust or rot anywhere. The chassis is rock solid and was wax-oiled to keep it that way and the van has never been driven on salted roads. All doors and openings have had new seals in the last 3 years.
Interior

In 2010 the interior was given a full refresh; the cab has had a new headlining. recovered and refurbished seats. new seat belts. the dash was repainted and an oil temperature gauge fitted along with a new radio/cd head unit which also has an aux in for iPod/iPhone etc. New mats and kick panels complete the cab leaving it looking like new.
The main living area is kitted out with custom built units that offer mountains of storage space as well as a three ring gas hob and sink unit including a neat cupboard for the gas bottle. Sleeping accommodation is comprised of a three quarter width rock and roll bed which has had new coverings and foam offering a comfortable double bed. a pop top provides another double bed (pop-top canvas new and also new coverings and foam) and a cab hammock gives a single bed (also bought new in 2010). The rear seat has two three point seat belts and the option of a central lap belt allowing three to travel safely in the back. We've camped with 2 adults. 3 children and a dog in here along with all our gear!
A leisure battery powers the interior lighting and accessory sockets and features a split charge system that keeps it topped up when driving. Mains hookup is also provided for more heavy duty power requirements.

Engine & Transmission etc.

The engine is original and has never given a moments trouble and leaves my driveway nice and clean (no oil leaks!) and has had an immobiliser fitted. Power from the engine is superb and cruises along happily returning approx. 25 Mpg. All of the hoses and pipes have been replaced and all the wiring tidied up. The camper has been given a full professional service every 12 months. Gear changes are smooth and distinct. During our ownership all shocks have been replaced along with new track rod arms. bearings and bushes. The brakes are in perfect working order and despite her size and weight. stops on a sixpence.

During our ownership we have spent over £12. 00 with VW professionals to keep our camper in first class condition - anything and everything that needed replacing has been!
Our camper is offered for sale at £21. 50 and has been recently MOT'd (expires March 2015) and is taxed to the end of September 2014. The van also has a front roof rack which is included in the sale. We also have an Outwell Country Road awning (sleeps 2 + lounge area). a three way fridge. sun canopy and various other camping goodies which can be negotiated as part of the sale. Whilst we're sad to see her go. this is a cracking camper maintained to the very highest standards and is fully equipped ready to go on any adventure you want.
