A 1951 Daimler DC 27 Ambulance registration number LRW 178 made in Coventry and used by Coventry City Council as a front line ambulance. it was then sold to ICI as a site ambulance and then two further owners until I purchased it some while ago. it comes fully equipped as per the period only six of these are left.
MOT exempt

Straight six cylinder overhead valve push rod engine

Work carried out is extensive. the internal wooden Ash frame was replaced and panels replaced. resprayed inside and out. chassis cleaned and painted. cab refitted new floor

and complete new wiring loom was fitted

Major engine rebuild crankshaft reground. rings. new white metal bearings and new valves specially made etc etc

Pre-select gearbox reconditioned

Drives to shows ok. has the original fuel pump with the ability to switch to electric

and much more. tyres coming to the end of their time soon and the brakes were renown to be be poor. could do with an upgrade both these items reflected in the price
Great fun lots of work to get it to where it is now. lots of interest at shows
