This is our 1963 Austin A 40 Countryman mark 2 estate. It was purchased from Haines and Strange in 1965 for £480 and remained with the same owner until she sadly passed away. It remained in her garage mostly unused and covered in blankets from 1989. The inside of the car was also covered up with the original plastic on the seats and carpets over the original carpets. It has been treated to a steam clean and polish and a mechanical service and now starts first time on the button. it has new radial tyres (all 5) and a new exhaust together with a new battery and many other parts as needed.

Whilst having the exhaust done I pictured the underside of the car to show that it has never been welded and to show it must be the cleanest anywhere underneath. it has not had waxoil or underseal so still is as it left the factory. pictures will show how clean this car is. it has a few marks but nothing that detracts from its originality and if the carpets are lifted it will revel the white metal floors. So many adverts say that the car has not been driven in the rain. I cannot claim this but I find it hard to imagine that it has seen any real adverse conditions. the paint still holds its shine and having had the plastic on the seats since new the condition underneath is better than any restored car. I have taken it to the m. o. t today and it drive straight and holds the road well with the new radial tyres. the chrome is all good and I beleive the interior must be the best anywhere.

The number plate is transferable however I will not split them even though the plate has a value of between £1000/2000

If unsold this car is going to repainted in pink as it is going to be used by my daughter. which would be a shame to change such a beautiful original car. I will start bidding at £4500 and it will be sold without reserve to the highest bidder. I recommend that you veiw and have the car inspected. I can collect from any train station or airport local to me. This must be one of the very best cars for sale on ebay today. Thanks for looking James.
