This is the rare Eclat Excel produced for a very limited time between the earlier Eclat and the re branded Excel. It benefits from the superb 2. 2 912 engine with twin Delortos (as in the Esprit) coupled with the very reliable Toyota 5 speed gearbox. in 1983. 162 ps in a lightweight body was a worthy rival of other 80 s exotics with a 0-60 time of 7. 4 seconds. a top speed of 128 mph and a price tag of around £20. 00. that's over £60. 00 in todays money!! Air conditioning. electric windows. power steering. electric windows. electric mirrors. alloy wheels (and more) were all part of the package.

With Esprit prices rising fast and Lotus heritage an important part of British motoring history. this almost forgotten classic presents a real opportunity to own a usable and interesting classic that wont rust. better than money in the bank.

This car was in the same ownership for 30 years. little used but regularly started and motd. We purchased the car from this owner and subsequently sold it to the 3 rd owner about a year ago. Since then the car has been used slightly more and much work has been done including a new water pump. new and upgraded differential bearing. new front brakes and more. There will be a new MOT prior to the next owner collecting.

Low mileage. low ownership. leading British sports car brand and just £6990! hardly seams possible in todays booming classic car market - Not to be missed and once again will be sad to see it go!
