1939 MG TA sports car for sale
Current customer rating:
This auction is for a 1939 MG TA sportscar
The vehicle was recently imported from the U. S. where its been in longterm dry storage for many years. We discovered it sharing stable space with a vintage Elvin race car. the owner opted to sell their private collection and the car was repatriated to the UK.
As per the photos the condition is very good. the bodywork is sound and the underside in very good. original order. The motor is stuck from standing & will need remedial work. I've removed the plugs and filled the bores with light oil to help free things up. but have decided to leave it for the new owner to tackle rather than risk damaging anything at this stage.
Under the bonnet the engine is complete and in original order. even the tool boxes retain their original foam inserts and compliment of tools! Of all the project T-series vehicles I've seen over the years. this is unquestionably one of the best.
The paintwork is very presentable. but up close there are some blemishes and marks from storage etc.
The interior is also in good shape. the car retains its original Jaeger instrumentation and switchgear. all of which is in good condition. The hood appears to be either original or a very old but high quality replacement. again it seems to be in good order.
The car is sold complete with US documentation and NOVA certificate confirming payment of UK import taxes and permitting immediate registration.
We believe the current plate to be the one it left the UK with when exported to the States all those years ago. I'm told it may be possible for the DVLA to re-allocate this to the car when its re-registered here.
In summary. an outstanding opportunity to acquire a sought after early T-series MG.
Unrestored early vehicles in this order are becoming extremely hard to find. not to be missed!
