Lotus Seven
Potential buyers for the first time saw the Lotus Seven in 1957. The car was positioned as a very cheap option (1250$) for use in club racing. Lotus Seven was the same company until 1973, and saw the four major modification, the last of which was so unsuccessful that the management of the group decided to sell the rights to the Lotus Seven companies Caterham Cars. The latter decided to drop the unsuccessful experience of the 4-th generation and returned to the production of 3-rd, though in a modified form.
The body was a tubular frame of the raised rigidity, a sheet of aluminum. From the weather and the wind passengers protected windshield and easy canopy that could be jettisoned in the back of the seats, as well as removable door. The front wings have been rigidly attached to the wheels and moved with them.
The first series was equipped with a 75-strong engine Ford, which pushed the car weight 430 kg up to a hundred only for the 9c and a three-stage mechanics. By 1969, when started the issue of the third generation of the Lotus Seven, the car has been installed engines volume 1643 cm3 with a capacity of 115 horses and a four-step manual gearbox from the British Motor.
