Date of dispatch: 7 July 1960

This SP250 was returned to the UK in 2010 and has been through a significant programme of recent restorative work including:

Body repairs. shaping and contouring. panel refit (doors/bonnet/boot-lid) and refinished in the correct ‘ivory' paint. so too the engine bay.

The chassis - very straight indeed with few. if any. signs of repair – is in black paint (not yet waxoyled).

Mechanical overhaul. brake refurbishment. new fuel pump. various new seals and rubbers.

Steel wheels stripped and painted and then fitted with Avon radials (plenty of tread all round).

Interior restored to a very high standard with new Bordeaux-red leather-hide seat covers. matching Bordeaux-red wool carpeting (including boot trim kit and carpet) and matching fascia and door cards.

The original factory-spec  steering wheel and horn push/indicator assembly remain. but the dash has been fully rebuilt with all controls serviced and checked.

The soft-top has been completely rebuilt with a new. powder-coated hood-frame and new cover in light tan which looks just right when raised set against the ivory paintwork.

The brightwork is generally very good with very few exceptions.

Original factory hard-top. freshly renovated and with burgundy vinyl and re-chromed clips.

Some photos are included as a record of the work completed. also a good number of invoices and a history file detailing much of the recent expenditure and some of the earlier. Canadian history.

Road tax free and MOT test to November 2013.

Overall. a lovely SP250 in a very attractive colour scheme – ivory paint and Bordeaux leather and wool interior.

A practical tourer with good boot. comfortable interior and both the soft-top and freshly refurbished original factory hard-top.
