1976 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Van Bus for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 551 votes
For sale is a 1976 VW Westfalia in excellent condition! This camper was restored to its original condition and has many new or restored features. Mechanically sound. no rust issues. and starts everytime! It made a round trip from Raleigh. NC to Orlando. FL without any problems. Comes with all the original camping accessories including the rare camping stool. rear table. and brand new child's cot. It has all the original curtains including the front curtain as well as a great aftermarket awning that hooks up to the side. Read on for more details!

Beginning with the body: All new paint was done to match the original color as well as bodywork done from front to rear. with absolutely no bondo used. Rustbullet was added to the undercarriage and floorboard to ensure rust is never a problem in the future. An undercarriage spray was added. similar to Rhino bedliner. for added assurance that this bus will remain rust free. All new OEM rubber seals were installed in all glass and doors and the windshield glass was replaced due to its age. New Bosch H4 headlights and all new OEM tailight. turn signal. and side marker covers.

With the interior: All new carpet. padding. and new. OEM seat covers were installed in the front seats with padding from wolfsburgwest. com. New retractable seatbelts for the front seats. New door panels and wood panels in the back area were also added. As seen in the picture. the interior still needs to have the cabinet relaminated but this is the only remaining item left to restore. The camping features (sink and stove) are not currently hooked up since I was planning to get around to restoring the cabinets. However. all plumbing for these is there and ready to go. I haven't had the propane tank tested but it looks to be in great condition and didn't have any dents or rust issues. The fridge seemed like it died long ago but we gave it new life by adding a drain plug which exits through the bottom of the bus. so now it can be used as an ice chest and drained when the ice melts. A new poptop canvas was installed. which is superior to the original with the added window screens on both sides and the front.

Mechanically: The engine is a 2. 0L Type 4 that has new heads with about 5000 miles on them. new plugs and wires. and new alternator. The progressive carburetor was professionally rebuilt and tuned. New heater boxes were installed before I purchased the bus but the heat has never been hooked up and tested. New Bosch blue coil and new 009 distributor with pertronix pointless ignition. New fuel hoses. new brake lines. new shift bushings. and new shocks. New cylinder head temperature monitor installed and calibrated. The braking system was replaced entirely with new parts including calipers. drums. brakes. shoes. rotors. metal brake lines. and brake master cylinder (basically anything related to the braking system was replaced or restored for added safety). New wheel cylinders and wheel bearings as well. All new. correct for the bus. Hankook RA08 8-ply tires to help eliminate sway problems (spare tire is also a Hankook). Many more new items installed.

This bus is in excellent shape but expect a few scratches. bumps. and bruises on the paint. Other than these things. the bus is mechanically sound and rust free. I expected to finish the cabinets and hook up the camping interior but unfortunately won't have the time. I wouldn't sell this otherwise but I have a child that will be in the hospital for several months and will need the extra income to pay for medical expenses. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more pictures. Thanks and good luck bidding!
