Hi. I've finally bitten the bullet and decided to sell my beloved splitty.  Its a 1966 13 window deluxe microbus that I've imported and owned since 2000. Way back then I asked Jonny Abbott of Java if he could find me a nice solid bus that would be a good starting point for a project. after several pictures and emails he found this one for me in California. hence its a left hooker. He set everything up and 6 wks later I saw it for the first time. He got it registered fot me and carried out work to bring it up to scratch for a UK M. o. t.  Since then he's had it back to carry out various work including Brake overhaul. upgraded to 12v electrics. New engine. Kingfisher customs have put on new track rod ends. fuel lines and replaced most of the door seals(original vw)Its been painted in an old porsche blue and vw cumulus white in 2pack(oven baked) by one of Westfield sports cars painters. The body work is very straight and generally in a very good condition. There is a patch of surface corrosion above the windscreen that I have tried to show in the photo. The chassis is in excellent condition. its never needed to be welded and is absolutely original. Dave from Kingfisher said its one of the most solid chassis he's ever seen. When i used to use it as a dailly runner it was waxoiled for winter. The interior is totally original. it still has the middle folding seat(quite rare as most have been ripped out to make way for rock n roll beds) however it has had nothing done to it since it was made. so is in need of a visit to the upholsterers. I've always just made do with a couple of throws to cover the seats. It runs lovely. starts first time every time. is tax exempt. has U. S Good Year Invictor white wall tyres and always turns heads.
