EARLY BAY VOLKSWAGEN WESTFALIA TURRET TOP (RARE) IN MONTANA RED PROJECT/RESTORATION.



Where do i start? . I bought this van complete over 3 years ago with the intention of a total restoration. the van was last on the road in 1996 !
The van has always been stored inside warm and dry. br>Only had 4 previous owners. br>As you can see i have made a dam good start with all the welding work being done by a profesional vw restorer at great cost
The van needs very little welding to complete the task.
Next job for me was to shotblast the underside then stonechip and paint body colour. however an impending house move means its up for grabs!
No rot in the roof gutters. never has been. br>Solid front doors (california imports) and tailgate. sliding door will need bottom repair. inside repair panel supplied. br>The van has had . new rear corners (californian imports) including battery trays. new rear arches and inner arches (tubs) new sills both sides. new complete front arches. new front valance inner and outer. new jacking points and outriggers x4. repairs to front panel. new front chassis rails. repairs to cab floor and rear floor etc.
No filler has been applied over welding. so you get to see the quality of work already done.
Very rare turret top will need minor repairs to make perfect and new canvas. br>Interior comprimises of original 3 quarter rock n roll bed buddy seat. original front seats to match the non-walkthrough set up. wardrobe has been re-built using non original wood and no sink unit is present. cab headlining still intact. rear wood headliner will need attention. original wiring loom is present but removed and would suggest replacing ( new ones are avaliable).
Set of BRM wheels included in sale but will require some minor refurbishment.
Low mileage 2. 0l non turbo SUBARU engine also included in sale (no conversion parts supplied) and 1. 6 flat four aircooled engine the choice is yours!
Front beam is present but will require welding or replacing. all other suspension parts including gearbox are included.
As you can see the van is sat on axle stands so you will need a trailer and a van or large car to collect
I will help out with the loading up and may have access to a forklift for loading
I am not desperate to sell and not selling for a silly price nor do i want any p/x. if i dont get the price i am looking for i will simply keep the van and finish when i can.
