1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

*** 170 PICTURES! ***Up for sale is my 1957 Chevrolet 210 2-door sedan. This is an extremely original car.

The term "survivor" is certainly overused in the car-collecting world, nevertheless it is appropriate here as there aren't likely to be too many 64-year-old cars this… unused.  It currently has 20,196 original miles on it, though it is slowly climbing, as I do enjoy driving it.

Original paint.  That means no body repairs - no bondo - nothing.  The interior is 100% original down to the plastic seat covers.  Original trunk mat.  I just had the car gently buffed and ceramic-coated.  If you're like me, you prefer distressed original paint to shiny $25,000 paintjobs, which is to say that there are chips, light scratches and paint loss in a few areas.  But overall, as you can see, the car shows its factory “Tropical Turquoise” incredibly well.

235 / Powerglide.  The car runs & drives very smoothly.  Rolling down the road, the car is silent.  It's definitely daily-driver type of material if that's what you're after.

As you can see from the underside shots, there is almost zero rust.  No fat seams or bubbling anywhere, and certainly no repairs.  Wheel lips are absolutely perfect.  There's one small area under the driver's footwell that got rotten due to the rubber floormat holding moisture.  That's it!

There are a few bumps on the passenger's side: One on the door, one behind the door, and a couple behind the rear wheel opening.  There is another little bump on the hood, and then some smaller dings throughout.  Otherwise, the car is extremely straight.   Glass is all-original; windshield is very clear but does have a couple small rock chips.  Chrome and stainless are excellent.

I just mounted $1200 worth of radial bias-ply-look-alike tires and had it aligned.  It looks to have had plug wires and a distributor cap somewhat recently, not by me.  Otherwise – since very little has been done to the car since new, there's nothing else to describe mechanically.  EVERYTHING works.  Every bulb, lever, gauge, key cylinder, window crank, etc.  The vacuum wipers leave a lot to be desired but that's nothing new with these cars.

The car currently resides in Colorado, though it is originally out of Oklahoma.  I am the third owner.  I have the original sales receipt!  I also have a clear Colorado title in my name.

This obviously isn't a car for everyone, but if you appreciate original cars like I do, I don't think you'll find another like it at any price, which is firm for now.  In-person inspections are welcomed and encouraged.   No trades unless you're holding an exquisite '57-'58 Plymouth or DeSoto 2dr Hardtop…  Thanks.
