What we have here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a rust free. fresh California Import 1978 Firebird Formula 400. This car is EXTREMELY RARE and a truly unmolested Blue Plate California car.

I bought this car myself in Los Angeles in May 2016 with the intention of fully restoring and using as a weekend toy.  Unfortunately due to an unseen circumstance (I'm 4 years too young to get insurance on a 6. 6) I'm forced to sell. and now losing money on my dream car.
Not to be mistaken with the common Formula 350. this car is the daddy Formula 400. unique to California in 1978.  
Featuring a numbers matching. freshly restored Oldsmobile 403 Motor with a turbo 350 Transmission. this car has had an entire mechanical restoration from the ground up and is now ready for a minor cosmetic restoration to make it a show winner and a real collectors dream.
To put into perspective the rarity of this car. In 1978 GM produced over 93. 00 Trans Ams. and only 24. 00 Formulas. With most of the Formula's being supplied with Chevrolet 350 motors. this factory 403 is an extraordinary car.  
The original owner of this car had taste. Opting for the performance of the Trans Am without the silly stickers. This Formula features an optional Limited-Slip Differential. Deluxe Interior Package. W72 Performance Pack. Full Raleigh Gauges. Electric Windows and even a Heated Rear Window. And who could forget the gorgeous Martinique Blue exterior?
The original rally wheels are in excellent condition and the car is 100% complete. apart from the steering wheel that is from a later year Trans Am.
This car runs and drives fantastic.  Having had a full mechanical restoration and tune up. this car is off the button and goes how a 6. 6 litre should. and with new suspension and brakes. handles a dream.
Being 38 years old. this car is not entirely perfect. The existing paint has been well scorched by the California sun and the car would benefit from a full respray and interior kit to get it back to it's former glory.  Importantly. nbsp;the dashboard in the car is in excellent condition and there is no rust to the body whatsoever with the exception of a small patch in the passenger door. no bigger than a 50 pence piece - a common find.  
Pease note anything on the photographs that remotely looks like rust is in fact sand from the desert I bought this car in.
Car has a fresh MOT. and is sold UK registered.  
Restored Formula 350's are fetching close to £30. 00 and restored 400's are impossible to find.
