Well I never imagined selling this car. I have owned it for the past 22 years. but the time has come. This car was only used for short occasional drives or to go to local car shows. This is an older restoration. it looks good and runs good. however there are some small scratches and a few items that may require some TLC. This is registered a 1970 VW Beetle it was built to its current condition in 2009. This custom VW Bug has a stock rebuilt 1973 1600cc dual port engine with: . 009 distributer Petronics Electronic Ignition. High performance intake Webber 2bbl Progressive carburetor. chrome air cleaner Exhaust is heat deleted “J” tubes into a header Turned Stinger megaphone muffler. Flywheel turned down High performance clutch/ pressure plate Porsche Phone Dial wheels Perrelli 225/70/15 tires in the rear Michlin 175/65/15's on the front. Included under the hood is factory Porsche spare tire as well. Brakes were all new. starting from the master cylinder all new lines. wheel cylinders. brake shoes. put together nicely with powder coated brake drums. powder coated backing plates. and all new hardware. Car had original bumpers removed. T-bars installed in the rear and the front bumper holes have been filled in and custom brackets were made to install the thin blade style front bumper lower to the ground. Stainless steel running boards were installed. Turn signals have been removed from the tops of the fenders and holes welded shut. Turn signals are now LED lights installed inside the headlight glass. new style side marker lights were added to the sides of the car. Headlight lens conceal the LED turn signals. the regular headlight bulbs (halogen). Driving lights (fog) . and low wattage parking lights to make the headlight bulbs have a dim “glow”. Rear window. and rear side windows were tinted. front windows are now one piece glass. (wing windows were removed). Moving inside the car. the dash sports a gauge cluster from a 914 Porsche. including fuel gauge. tachometer. and speedometer. a Sony stereo head unit. Car is pre-wired to the back compartment behind rear seat for AMP and Subwoofer. New plastic glove compartment replaced the original cardboard one. and a 12V outlet was added for today's electronic gadgets. Floors were fixed. new throttle cable and clutch cables were installed. all new bushings and components in shift linkage were replaced. all new carpet installed. EMPI shifter installed. new speakers and ABS kick panels installed. New door panels were installed. all rubber seals were replaced. I installed a 12V battery cutoff switch in rear kick panel. for when car is in storage. Car has a sunroof and new headliner installed. Original vinyl VW seats were replaced with much more modern and more comfortable seats frt and rear. The latest upgrade I made to the car was lowering it 2+ inches. via lowed front spindles. including all new ball joints and beam shims in front . and re-indexing the rear suspension. that was done in 2010. Followed by a front end alignment. Car has always been in my garage. and recently I find myself walking around the car. wishing I had the floor space that the car occupies. I have new interests and new hobbies. so with a heavy heart I list the car here for sale. If it doesn't sell. I will continue to take it for an occasional drive and to the occasional car show
