Authentically restored and superbly presented series 2 example in great colours.

History of this car

A standard Tipo 818. 630 model. our car has recently been the subject of a thorough restoration by Italian artisans. working to the previous owner's brief of returning the car to the day it left the Chivasso plant in 1971. Although there are no receipts for the work (modus operandi in Italy). it is obvious that this was a comprehensive job and a significant sum has been spent.

The odometer was zeroed at the time of the restoration and today reads 1800 klms. so only running in miles have been completed.

This car has spent its entire life in Italy until imported by us this year. sourcing the car for the quality of the restoration.

Our car is finished in the original Rosso York colour. a hue which particularly suits the Piero Castagnero penned lines of the Fulvia.

We are still researching its history. but it appears to be a two owner from new vehicle.

Bodywork

This body is spot on – rust free. arrow straight and with pleasingly consistent panel fit all round. The restoration of this car involved a windows-out repaint in the original delivery colour of Rosso York. This has been carefully applied and today has a consistent and deep shine with terrific lustre.

The underside is straight. solid and appears entirely rust and accident free. with a protective coating applied throughout.

All lighting. trim and glass are in factory fresh condition. and the screen rubbers were replaced at the time of painting.

We note this car is fitted with the rare heated rear window option.

The wheels have also been blasted and repainted.

Mechanicals

This little Fulvia bursts into life upon the first crank of the engine. which is not surprising considering the original twin Solex carburetors have clearly just been rebuilt. Showing good oil pressure. the all-alloy V4 engine is whisper quiet and super smooth. pulling cleanly up the rev range through every gear.

The brakes are strong. the ride pliant and handling superb; this example is mechanically strong and handles the way a Fulvia should.

The engine bay presents beautifully with authentic finishes throughout.

We have just serviced the car with fresh oil. filters. leads and plugs.

All 4 tyres are correct (and expensive) Michelin XAS which are unworn.

Interior

Wow – the most authentic restored interior we've seen in a Fulvia. From the rubber matting up to the headlining. everything here has been restored with correct materials. and thus presents as though it just rolled out of the Chivasso factory gates. Nonetheless. there is still a feel of originality inside and this is not like stepping into a new car - that Lancia charm lingers in spite of the fact the car has been entirely retrimmed. which we feel is testament to the superb quality of the work.

Protective tailored over carpets are supplied (not shown).

A period radio is fitted.

Boot

Consistent with the rest of the car: outstanding and correct. jack and toolkit in place. Tailored protective over carpet supplied (not shown).

Summary

Finding a good Fulvia is not easy. and this one is among the very best. restored to a factory original standard.
