1973 VW T2 Bay Window Camper Van

Get ready for a long summer of camping and fun filled days in a ready to use fully restored RHD 1973 VW T2 Bay Window Camper Van. It has just been checked and has a full 12 month MOT and road tax.

We are reluctantly selling her as we have a toddler and new baby on the way and simply don't have the time to take her out and use her as we'd initially intended.

It has had a full bare metal restoration (completed in 2008). since then she was used as a showpiece for the company who completed the restoration and then came to us. At home she has always been kept under covers and garaged. with the past couple of years only being used on sunny weekends. taken for a run. washed and cleaned before putting her back away.

The van was professionally restored (which you would expect since it's over 40 years old). the restoration elements consisted of (but not limited to):

·       Strengthened front panel & fitted spare wheel

·       Replaced n/s & o/s front door steps

·       Replaced both front doors

·       Repairs to windscreen surround

·       Weld repairs to front axel round steering pivot

·       Repaired front floor pan n/s & o/s

·       Replaced n/s & o/s inner and outer sills

·       Replaced o/s sill to body panel

·       Replaced sliding door

·       Both rear wheel arches replaced

·       Rebuilt inner wheel arches

·       Repaired front inner wheel arch

·       Repaired bottom tail lid

·       Repaired engine boot lid

·       Replaced n/s & o/s rear lower panels around rear lights

·       Replaced n/s & o/s battery trays

·       Repairs carried out on n/s & o/s belly pan to sills

·       All weld repairs thoroughly under sealed

·       Full re-spray in Orange and cream/white

·       Replaced front seats and made new subframes

·       Fitted inertial reel seat belts to the front seats

·       Replaced windscreen wiper and arms

·       Stripped. cleaned and refurbished the brakes

·       Sunroof fitted. Manual retract. and awesome in the summer. driving along with the roof back!

·       New front seats with matching interior and finish on rear bench

·       Klaxon and standard horns

·       Van Wurks Camper van interior fitted with

o   Grill unit – two burner hob & grill with heat shields and pull out towel rail (grill tray still in bubble wrap)

o   Sink unit – stainless steel sink. foldaway tap. clean water container and submersible pump

o   Storage unit – upper compartment ideal for clothes storage. lower ideal for food and tools

o   Wardrobe – fitted with clothes hanging rail and side and rear storage pockets. Also has shelf.

o   Overhead storage locker

o   Table kit - mounts into floor of van

o   Removable fridge unit (running on 12 and 240v) can be left in the van or useful for leaving in a utility tent whilst you're away.

o   Internal curtains to all but front window (external cover for front widow included)

o   Fitted carpets to the front

·       New split charger for main and leisure battery

·       Fuchs wheels

·       New exhaust

·       Reconditioned engine with numerous components replaced and serviced (which has done less 3500 miles since fitting)

·       Reconditioned gear box with various elements replaced by the restorers

We have all the receipts for the parts and a picture album showing the restoration.

She even has the original service book and manual from the 1970's !
