Originally built Sept 1976 Mileage is 89750Km which equates to 55768 miles.

I have owned this vehicle since 2005 and ran it on the road for the first couple of years following that I trialled it for about 3 years before starting some restoration work.

Modifications

Converted to coil springs by Malcolm Whitbread to take part in the ARC nationals. Other modifications include Power assisted steering . Revised gear linkage moving the gear lever further forward from original position and makes it easier to change gear . Disc brakes alround . Defender 90 seats . Internal roll cage over cab area. The engine & gear box moved approx 300mm further back in order to accomodate the conversion to coils . Heavy duty diff and steering guard fitted to front axle . Heavy duty dislocation cones fitted to rear.  The front and rear bumpers are not standard. It sits on range rover axles. It has the original V8 on carbs and the gear box not sure if its the original or a 4 speed rangie box the only reason I am unsure is that when I had it on the road it cruised very nicely between 60 -70 Mph on the motorways.

3 years ago the body was taken back to bare metal etch primed and sprayed in Nato satin green. (It was originally bright yellow) This included all removable body panels.  Much of the chassis was taken back to bare metal Kurusted primed and painted in black hammerite. The chassis only suffered from surface rust and is in very good condition. Brand new and original land rover doors fitted (Upper & Lower) . New coils and shocks . The hood is in reasonable condition but is blue and no longer matches the vehicle I did start to dye it black but never got round to finishing it so its abit half and half.  It has a removable drop plate for the rear in order to tow traillers with a normal ball hitch. Bench seats are fitted in the rear.

It has no tax or MOT as it has been garaged now for about 3 years and hasnt been started for approx 18 months therefore it will require some work in order to get it back on the road (ie carb refurb etc) it also requires door seals which can be obtained from the 101 club. It will need to be picked up by trailler.

This is a cash on collection sale and viewing is recommended it is also advertised else where so I reserve the right to remove it from the auction.
