1960 Speedwell Morris Mini.

This original early March 1960 Mini has covered just over eighty thousand miles from new with 6 previous keepers.

The history folder shows that a new Speedo was fitted and the folder backs up this mileage with MOT's back to 1979.

I would describe this car as a survivor with lots of originality. The Cherry red paintwork has a nice shine. it does however have lots of chips but in my opinion it adds to the overall patina of the car.

The car was up rated very early in its life with tuning parts from Speedwell. with the twin SU carb option and ported yellow head. The wheels have been changed for Coopers S wheels which sit nicely in the arches. The wand type gear lever has been changed for the period remote linkage which sits under the floor cover. The seats have been changed and are original 1960's era bucket seats. The car is even fitted with period seat belts which were bolted through the Pillars. Fitted with original speedwell badge front and rear this car is a period up rated car.

The history folder shows that the engine. gearbox. suspension. brakes  and steering were all re-built in 1988 with the car covering very little mileage since this work being undertaken.

The overall condition of the bodywork is exceptional for its age. The front floors have been changed but in my opinion could do with changing again as they have a small hole on the drivers side. All other areas including the rear floors. boot area. wings front panel etc are all in superb condition.

Should you require the floors to be changed I have access to a classic car restoration facility that will be able to undertake this work.

The car has as recently been serviced with the carb's balanced etc and benefits from a new battery. It drives very nicely. A new MOT has just been completed with two advisories which were the small hole in the floor and brake lights. The lights have been fixed and the floor mentioned above.

I would strongly recommend viewing the car as it is not a freshly restored car. This is a true survivor and is ready to be enjoyed this summer. For further information please contact Lee on 07836335334.
