This is a chance to aquire an incredibly rare sports coupe. he 1600 M was made only for a few years and only 148 were ever made! The 1600 M was introduced in 1972 as the entry model in TV?R's new 'M' range (named after company owner Martin Lilley) the 1600 M was designed as a replacement for the ageing Vixen S 4. It retained the S 4's well proven Ford running gear in a much improved longer wheelbase tubular steel backbone chassis. The all round independant coil spring suspension disc and drum brakes and rack and pinion steering handled the power from the Cortina 1599 cc GT engine 4 cylinder engine. he 1600 M had excellent handling with a top speed of 110 mph and 0-60 in 10 secs. in a car with a curb weight of under 900 Kg. This car would need only minimal attention to have it on the road again. omething that unfortunately we dont have the time to do. The car has been used for historic racing in the past. uite successfully. and still has the bucket seats. racing seat belts and fire extinguisher systems fitted. This car had a body off restoration during 2001-2002. he chassis was shot blasted and powder coated and body painted. The suspension and brake assemblies were overhauled. a new wiring loom was fitted with an alternator conversion and an oil cooler was also fitted it has a webber side draught 45 DCOE carburettor and K&N filter. driveability was further enhanced with a Ford Mk 9 5 speed gearbox. This car could be very quickly put back on the road as it was running well when it was laid up 8 years ago. ervicing of brakes etc should be about all but would now benefit from another respray. but acceptable to drive as it is. t could be on the road by late Spring and Summer.
