Originally bought as a Sebring project after previous owner spent a small fortune on it. then was put off by a small fire. Very solid car with many new and uprated parts.  Paintwork from the doors back is very good. Front wings could do with replacing. a pair of fibreglass front wings are included in the sale. Bonnet has been replaced but needs a decent respray. a second hand aluminium bonnet is also included with the car but this needs a bit of work. It has wider than standard Wolfrace Slot Mag alloys currently with 185 tyres. rear arches have been rolled (badly) to fit. my plan was to fit arch extensions. Spare is a Rostyle 165. early space saver.
Car has had Chrome bumper conversion. but with Sebring valences instead of bumpers. lowered. wing mods. Mk3 chrome front grill with wire mesh and lucas spot lights behind. but I have the plastic honeycome too. Being a 78 it has dual circuit servo assisted brakes and anti roll bars as standard and would also make an easy V8 conversion.
I was told by the previous owner that the engine has been bored out to 1900cc and it has an unleaded head. I cannot verify this but have had no problems running it on unleaded. It has Weber 45DCOE carburetor. performance distributer with no vacuum advance and performance exhaust. Engine runs well with stable tick over and no smoke. It does drip oil slightly if left in the same place for a few weeks. It is quick for an MBG but not by modern standards.
Brakes work well. hoses are new and steel braided type. Clutch hydraulics all new. works but slight judder sometimes when pulling away. may need clutch plate soon. Front nearside stub axle will need replacing at some point. advisory on last MOT. other side has been changed and is a relatively easy job.
Inside. seats have been recovered with faux leather. I also have the original grey/black stripy covers in ok condition. Original full length Webasto sun roof with wind deflector and doesn't leak. It has a Kenwood CD/FM/AM stereo with mp3 input where the useless air vents were (original radio position) banking plate with volts gauge. space for more gauges in the centre console (still have the original vents). It has a single 12V battery and battery cut off switch. It has an basic alarm fitted with remote central locking.
I have the V5 in my name. currently only 1 set of keys. Car has been mainly kept garaged. Very cheap insurance even with the mods only £120 per year. I have tried to describe it as accurately and honestly as possible. but I would recommend viewing. Car is currently on SORN. Cash on collection only.
