I apologise to all the previous watchers but I have had to delete the listing and then re-list so I could get it into the classic car category. ery complicated. This is an auction for a 1980 MG Midget. The last 500 Midgets off of the production line in 1979 were all painted black and after some research i discovered that the chassis number on this one reveals that only 35 more rolled out of the factory behind it. The last one is in a museum so this could be one of the last production Midgets on the road today. I am not going to try and over sell this car as it is 34 years old and not perfect in any way. however it is an excellent. solid. Midget. The gearbox whines a bit. the back axle drones a bit but the engine is very strong and pulls very well. A new back box gives the engine a nice raspy exhaust note but does appear to be knocking on the underside of the car when going over bumps. The interior is tidy with only a couple of holes in one of the headrests. Bodywork is excellent with no apparent rust and has recently had a new inner and outer cills. Evidence of welding on the floor pan but all appears to be done well. Had complete new front brake calipers with braided pipes and front bearings for last m. o. t so stops like it should. Four good tyres although I do not know how long they have been on the car. Has been converted to rear spax shock absorbers. electronic ignition and halogen headlights. Finally it has just had a new vinyl softtop fitted with new header rail seal so is water tight and leak free. Comes with a huge file of history going back to the 80's. Comes with 6 months tax and 6 months m. o. t so is ready to drive and enjoy this summer. So as I say it is a good solid Midget that requires only minor work to get up to a good standard or is ok as it is. It will put a smile on your face whenever you drive it. Don't forget it is 34 years old so creaks. rattles and groans at time. just like it's current owner "although he is 45" Advertised elsewhere so have the right to remove at any time. Winning bidder to pay £100 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end and balance in cash when collecting. I am 20 minutes from junction 23 M5 and 20 minutes from Yeovil train station. Any questions please email or phone 07793009051. GOODLUCK!
