This is a reliable daily driven 1954 Oval Window Volkswagen Beetle. It has a rebuilt original 36hp engine. rebuilt later style synchro transmission installed and comes with original spli-case transmission. I have replaced the wire harness. all brakes including metal lines. hoses and master cylinder. All new fuel lines. fuel tap. custom fuel filter lines. Okrasa (vintage) glass fuel filter. professionally reconditioned and sealed fuel tank. professionally restored 28 PCI carb. Engine and transmission have just over 1000 miles since rebuilt. Speedometer was rebuilt at same time and reflects actual mileage of engine. trans and other mechanicals. the brakes have correct 1954 drums all around including a spare front. I had the semaphores (turn signals) professionally restored and rewound for 12v electrical. The generator is a small diameter Porsche 12v. flywheel was converted to 12v. new 12v starter and all lights. Have a NOS (6v) wiper motor that is operated by a custom variable speed wiper switch that allows for 12v use. Brand new TMI interior still in boxes. the door panels are Saddle vinyl. seats are Saddle vinyl with sand tweed inserts that match carpeting. German square weave carpet including for behind rear seat. beige mohair (very soft) headliner. all clips and boots to install. Have extra body parts for repair. pan rear quarters were repaired using later style sections but are very solid. Seats are correct style and fronts have been stripped and welded for repair. All fenders. hood. decklid. etc. are correct other than passenger front is a later style. Has a narrowed front beam from previous owner. dropped spindles. all new tie-rods and ends. Windshield is cracked and needs replacement (cheap for reproductions). have all new window rubber and chrome trim to install. This car has a clear title. is registered. insured and driven daily. Only issue is a very small exhaust leak at rear gasket. no oil leaks. This is a very valuable car when complete and it is almost done. all mechanical and electrical has already been done. Finish body work. paint and install interior and its a brand new car again. Everything has been either rebuilt. replaced or repaired except the body and interior so basically is a new car in an old body. If you take a look at early Oval window Volkswagens you will see the great value and investment. especially for pre-55 years. These are getting very hard to find and often have incorrect engines and non-matching numbers. This is a all original car with matching numbers. original engine and transmission. you will have a hard time locating another for any price. I am sure I missed some of the parts and repairs done. just too much to remember. Have all receipts for work and parts.
