VW Split Screen / Splitty / T2 / Camper

The Rain Has Stopped. Summer is Here! 
Hi All. Welcome to my listing for my 1975 VW Splitscreen (Fleetline) that I brought over from Brazil late last year (my wife is Brazilian!). I am extremely sad to see him (Felipe - named after Felipe Massa (F1 driver) as everyone passes him on the road!) go. I had dreams of driving him across Europe with my wife. however a change in job and circumstances mean that I don't have the time to be able to look after him / or a place to store.

I have owned him for roughly 6 years. in which time the following has been restored / completed. ull Restore. including back to metal. primed and professional respray in Blue / White2 New Front Doors / Primed and Resprayed during the restorationNew 1600 Engine / Gearbox that have done less than 1500 miles since fitting / not even run in yet / New BatteryRestored / New Interior from Roof LiningRestored Front & Rear Seats (including Front Seat belts)Restored Door Cards all round (need refitting in areas (1hr job) where seat belts were fittedNew Floor throughout. New Fuel TankBrakes restored / Master Cylinder / Brake drums all skimmed with new cylinders / padsBrake lines / Fuel lines / Wiring Loom all new / Indicators / Speedo / Lights / Horn etc. all work as they shouldNew Tyres (less than 500 miles) all round / including the chrome 'dome' style hubcaps as per the picturesMOT'd in August 2013 passed with flying colours / only advisory was reference to a discolouration to a rear indicatorLoads more good bits. Some areas for considerationFront bumper has some small damage (£200? to fix) done by customs in Brazil at the port. again easy job to repairCargo doors need to be realigning - currently does not close properly / area where door and floor meet (see pic) needs addressingSome areas of rust starting in areas. nothing that looks nasty or was advised in the MOTScratches on some of the glass panes - 5-6 panes included to replace if you wanted to do (used. require a clean!)One missing wing mirror (£15?)Handle inside / on the dashboard needs replacing (£30?)Passanger Side front window latch needs replacing (£15?)Little bits 'n bobs that are normal. in the normal areasHope I have captured it all. please don't be put off. all of these VW's (unless spending £35K+ have bad bits - ask the owners!!)
All import Taxes etc have been paid - you will be the first UK owner. if the full asking price is paid then I will pay the £55 first registration fee. otherwise this is a fee that you will need to pay. this process is not complicated at all. there is a single form (which I have) that is in place of the usual V5 (log book) form.
I have priced him according to his condition. based on the other Split screens out there. this is not at £25K - £35K one as there are bits that do need doing. but anyone that knows. knows that there always bits for you to do. but hey. this is part of the appeal and what makes the Camper scene unique. some great people out there where you will make some great friends who are extremely passionate about all things VeeDub!
Again. I have priced to sell. I know that he isn't mint. but he also isn't as bad as many of them out there - If I had more time and a garage I would love to take this on as a small project to get him mint - but he is ready to hit the road this summer and for some adventures for the new owner.
