The car was built by Steve Curle . ex mechanic for Emerson Fittipaldi (former Formula One driver) and main carbuilder for Caroll Shelby in the 80 's and 90 's . Steve started his own Cobra shop - ACE COBRAS - in the 90's . so he no longer had to work under Caroll - his cars are the most developed Cobras on the market . This car - built in 1993 - is a special model containing a lot of specially ordered parts (endorsed by Carroll Shelby ) . Since Carroll 's cars had an aluminum 427 cui motor with which they had nothing but troubles . Steve let build a 351 cui motor by the race engine builder Clay Smith from Indianapolis . Clay Smith´s engines provided much more power for higher speeds than the normal 427 cui engines which were made of steel and therefor were much too heavy for the small car. so some race Cobras were equipped with 289 cui machines.
This engine is a " blueprinted " 351 cui "Windsor" with titanium pistonrods. The " 351 cui "Windsor" has the same weight as a 289 cui . this means lower weight but even much more power than a 427 cui. For inquiries you can check with " George " ( boss at Clay Smith Engineering ) - George had this machine on the " Dyno " : " 600 Horse Power - on a bad day !" The transmission is a 5-speed racing gearbox . 3 -fold racing clutch . " Positraction " race differential - all parts are polished or chromed

aluminum - "Halibrand" racing wheels with a large steel nut - s treet tires "Goodyear One"

. it comes with a second set of rims with " slicks " ( racing tires) " Hoosers ".

This Cobra is really a great. unique car and has a 1966 day registration as a "historical vehicle" - it was designed as a race car with side pipes and countless racing extras. a front oilcooler (only for racing models there) . a huge electric fan for the radiator. all parts original or racing improved.
