Seller's notes: "Engine starts and runs great. Hardly any rust, this gem has been in a garage in Arizona and California for the last 25+ years. Odometer/speedo works sporadically so mileage is unknown. It is unknown if fire engine water pump works. There is a crack on the windshield drivers side and the placards on the dash are hard to read but everything else is top notch."

Beautiful. pristine. all original '48 Power Wagon Fire Truck.

This awesome truck has been featured in at least two "Collectible Automobile" magazines as well as being currently shown on the "How Stuff Works" website (search 1948 Power Wagon) It is currently Garaged in Ojai California and prior to that garaged in Arizona so rust is very minor for a vehicle of this age. Engine compartment is clean as a whistle. It was a work truck at one time and it spent it's working life as a Forest Preserve District fire truck in Maywood. Illinois (it was yellow then).

It was purchased by an Illinois auto body shop owner in the 80's and he repainted it red (and I'm sure cleaned it up a bit). but kept everything original. all the way down to the included bell mounted in front. before relocating to Arizona. I purchased it in 2008 and it has been in my garage ever since except when driven on sunny days. Starts and runs great! You will not be disappointed!
