This 1969 Lotus Elan S4 DHC has been fully restored to Sprint 5 specifications using genuine Lotus parts. A new rust-free galvanized sprint chassis and a rebuilt Lotus 5-speed transmission. The car was restored by the third owner over a 20 year period. stripped to bare gel-coat and repainted in genuine Lotus colors: lagune blue over Monaco White.

Entire interior is new. including windshield glass. carpets. seat cushions and seat belts. new dash pad. and a new never-used convertible top. The lotus ford DOHC four cylinder has been completely rebuilt to the big valve standards using 1. 62 intake valves and 1. 38 exhaust valves. Camshafts have been reground and polished. Head is ported and flowed. The engine is fed by twin Weber 40DCOE Carbs. The bottom end of the engine was fully rebuilt with all new bearings. a balanced crankshaft. lightened flywheel. and a new water pump. The car has a new aluminum fuel tank. stainless steel braided hoses. and the entire electrical system has an updated wiring harness with alternator.

I have tried to honestly and accurately describe this Lotus. While it is a restored car. it is not a concourse trailer-queen; it's a 1960s British Sports Car. which shows extremely well with some minor imperfections . BUYER  IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTATION . THE TAC DOES NOT FUNCTION ACCURATELY OVER. 4000 RPM. NOT MENTIONED ALL THE SUSPENSION HAS BEEN REPLACED & RE-NEWED  ( as per receipts )REAR DIF IS 3. 55 .  APROX. HP IS 145. AND WITH.  THE 5 SPEED CONVERSION THIS  CAR IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART ! THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY FOR A SPECIAL ELAN BUYER AND  MY GUESS IS PARTS COST EXCEEDS THE COST  OF THE CAR. I HAVE HAD MANY INQUIRES AS TO THE RESTORATION! I DID NOT PERFORM THE RESTORATION IT WAS PREVIOUSLY RESTORED  BY THE LONG TIME OWNER  WITH  A BINDER OF RECEIPTS. WHILE THIS IS A NICE EXAMPLE IT IS NOT A SHOW OR NEW CAR AND  AS SUCH THERE ARE A FEW PAINT BLEMISHES . HIPS ETC  CAR SHOWS . ND DRIVES WELL ( if  you like go karts )

THIS CAR WAS ORIGINALLY A 4 SPEED AND WAS CONVERTED TO SPRINT 5 SPECIFICATIONS. NEW CLUTCH REBLT TRANS etc. I DO NOT NEED  "HELP " SELLING  THE CAR AND I AM NOT IN A HURRY TO DO SO. THIS IS A DECENT CAR AND IT SHOULD MAKE THE RIGHT BUYER PROUD.
