 Very nice 1977 Pontiac Firebird project. recent driver-level restoration nearly completed.   The car was a true barn find. had not been tagged since 1981. and was restored specifically to be a nice driver.   This is not a show car. just a nice head-turner for Saturday night cruising. or a good solid starting point for a rat rod. show car. TA clone. drag car. or whatever.   The car looks very good. starts and runs great. although there is still a little work to go to make it completely finished.

If you've been looking. you know that these cars are getting harder to find in a decent. affordable condition.   Most have ended up as rusted out hulks. or high-end trailer queens.   This will be a very easy project to finish. all the hard. high $$ stuff has already been done. and it will make a great. affordable old-school cruiser for someone.   The reserve price is ridiculously low. especially considering the cost of the parts that are in it. but I've got to get rid of some projects and make some room in my shop before spring. Clear Kansas title. ready to transfer.

Here is a high-level description of the car;

Mechanical
Fresh (20k miles) SBC 350 (1973 Corvette engine)

Open rear-end. unknown gearing (was going to put in a posi. did not get to it)
New blower motor
This was an A/C car originally. but all A/C components have been stripped out.

Body
Firemist Red paint with 3 coats clear - not show quality. some minor flaws. but shows very well
All rust was removed and replacement / repair panels welded in;

New Poly body bushings and core support bushings

New windshield
Reset / resealed back glass
All new soft seals (trunk. door. cowl. drip) and window seals (internal and external)
Vintage Cragar SS chrome wheels (15x8. 15x12). some minor rust showing. but not bad for their age.   I do have the original Pontiac rally rims with knockoffs if the buyer would like them. happy to include them in the price.

Replaced dash - very nice used condition. one minor crack that's hard to see
New center console and lid
New carpet
New headliner and dome light
New package tray
New door thresholds
Pioneer AM / FM / CD / AUX stereo with 9" speakers (back). 5" front
Original door panels and rear plastic panels - some flaws / wear. but very serviceable as a driver

Issues / Remaining work
I did not get to the front end yet. so the car has a little slop to it when running down the highway.   Not terrible. but it's there.   I had intended to install tubular control arms. new ball joints and tie-rod ends. but just didn't get to it. and would not recommend driving the car much at highway speeds until its done.

As stated previously. the paint is not show quality. there are some flaws in the finish here and there. along with a couple of places on the doors that could have been straightened out better.   Nothing that detracts too badly from the look of the car. but you can see it when eyeballing down the side.

Tires are serviceable but not new. with some weather-checking.    I had intended to install a new set of Cragar SS wheels with new tires. but did not get to it.

Some minor flaws in the interior on the old plastic seat back panels. door panels. and rear plastic panels.   They make replacement panels for all of this. just couldn't justify the $$ for what the car was built for.

The stainless steel rocker panels are not in great shape. some scuffs and discolorations.   Again. you can buy aftermarket replacements if needed.
