With a design run spanning model years from 1972 to 1989. enthusiasts around the globe feel the  third generation Mercedes-Benz SL is a model that most embodies the image of the company and the elements that led to its acceptance as a premier automaker worldwide. Dubbed internally as the “107 body” by company engineers. these SLs spanned 18 model years in the United States and abroad without body panel changes of any kind.   When one considers that annual sales of  107 body SLs during its second decade were almost twice as high as during its first. the only conclusion that can be drawn is that designers got this car right from the start.  

The 107 found fans among a wealth of corporate executives. celebrities in the Hollywood / Beverly Hills scene. professional athletes. and rock stars alike.  Bold styling. V8 power. and a removable steel roof launched the 450 SL into the Mercedes spotlight.

Straight. solid body has been refinished. Quality of paint is very good. All glass is in very good condition. Trim also in very good condition. A few small driving dings and very minor damage on front driver side fender at bumper. Minor damage to front grill. Dual chrome sport mirrors. Fog lamps. Fourteen inch steel wheels with Mercedes slotted hubcaps. Michelin radial tires; P205/70R14.

Factory blue leather bucket seat interior. Seat cushions and covers are in great condition. Door panels and carpet are also in very good condition. as well as seals and weatherstripping. Steering wheel and shift knob display a tiny bit of wear. Dash is in very good shape. Power windows and door locks. Air conditioning. Cruise control. AM/FM/CD. Fuel. water temperature. and oil pressure gauges. tachometer and clock.

The dependable 4. 5 liter eight cylinder engine powers this beauty. NOTE: This car was in storage for a period of time. It is in need of a tuneup.
