Fiat : Other FIAT JOLLY THE ULTIMATE BEACH CRUISER

The Fiat Jolly offered here is a rust free european example (Jollys were made into the early 1970s for European delivery) that was purchased following a comprehensive restoration by its original builder. Ghia. in Turin. Italy. A complete list of the work undertaken included is a full mechanical restoration. updated to top specifications by Ghia. The engine is a correctly numbered 650 cc unit. producing about 27 bhp and offering significantly better performance than the 500 cc engines installed in U. S. delivery Jollys. Furthermore. the carburetor is a Weber 281MB. which is a higher performance unit used in the later 500s. The transmission is a 126B. which is virtually identical to the original but has been modified internally for improved performance and reliability. Other N. O. S. or rebuilt components included the generator. fuel pump. exhaust. shock absorbers. and fuel tank. Cosmetic work included new chrome and brightwork. wiring. instruments. paint. upholstery. wheels and tires. The car was painted using the color Fiat Avorio Antico #234 (Sand). which is correct for the 1968 -1970 Jollys. Upon completion. this Jolly was reviewed by the Registro Storico Fiat. and it was recognized as an original restoration (Registry number 30898) by them as well as by the Carrozzeria Ghia Club Italia. From years of exposure to the salty ocean breeze. most of these steel-bodied cars were plagued by corrosion. and as a result. the survivor rate of Jollys is very low. That fact alone makes this rust free example all the more desirable. authentic examples. correctly restored both mechanically and cosmetically. are very difficult to find. making this a very nearly unique opportunity!!Its a well known fact Fiat Jollys in similar condition have been selling in the 85k-135k range this past summer and none of them have a provenance to match this Jolly!
