You are looking at my 1963 Mouse Grey original paint camper.   This was an exhaustive project to get an original paint bus back on the road. which took 7 Weeks.

The Bus will be in the next issue of Volksworld Magazine. in a 'Built at home' feature. where you can read the full story.

New sills. 1 side panel and some other areas such as lower rear corner and battery tray were professionally fitted and the paint blended in to suit with a match to the original paint.   The body of the bus is 100% rust free.   The only very minor rust issue left is on the lower side cargo doors. but I felt this was not bad enough yet to warrant repair.

The bus has a fully rebuilt front beam. including rebushed king pins. new link pins. new brakes. dual circuit conversion. new centre pin. rebuilt steering box. new drag link and all track rod ends.   The gearbox is a late big nut one with new brakes too.   There are all new brake hard lines and soft lines throughout.   The engine is a 1776cc single port. upgraded to doghouse cooling. with Solex carburettor. original Vacuum distributor and original VW fuel pump all rebuilt by RAGE in the Netherlands.   There is also a Fireboy automatic fire extinguisher in the engine bay for peace of mind.

The interior consists of: Full width rock and roll bed. using original Bay window Westfalia brackets and new Plywood throughout.   The buddy seat has storage inside and a westfalia table is hinged on the side panel.   The bus has a leisure battery and a split charge system.

I built this bus with no expense spared and immediately went on a 3 week trip around France with it last summer.   I am heartbroken to be selling. due to a marriage breakup. otherwise the bus would be staying with me for good.   I spent years looking for a suitable small hatch walkthrough original paint bus to build into my ultimate camper.   I've done all the hard work. so you can just buy it and use it.
