1959 vw splitscreen t2 camper

Hi this is my 1959 VW SPLITSCREEN. iv owned this van 5 years now and its been in dry storage as iv had other vans to finish. iv not got the time to finish this and its a shame to see it standing so would love it to have a good home. I restore vans as a hobby but I don't get the time theses days. I know what its worth and its one of the best vans iv ever come across that needs restoring as many are rot boxes.

I don't need the money or the room in the yard. I could keep it for a rainy day so no silly offers.

This van was imported from texas by the guy I had it off. so I have all the shipping paper work to get it registered. he started to weld it and fit new parts like a brand new beam axel and full front disc brakes and new gas shocks from creative eng costing £1200.  he fitted inner and outer sills. new bulk head fitted.  the chassis is in fantastic condition no work needed. front panel is mint. front nose peek is mint. doors are good. rear arches are mint. side panels are mint. gutters are mint. rear hatch and eng lid are mint no work needed. roof is very good. back corners very good. battery trays very good. this van is so good very little work needed. so why buy a rotter for 6 grand and spend £1000s and 300 hours welding when you can have this.

Since iv had it iv cut the front floor out as iv got a RHD chassis member I cut out of a old van of mine a few years ago and I bought a RHD VW quality floor which was £250 as I was going to make it full RHD. I have a RHD steering box and the original LHD box to. all this goes with van.

I have also bought front and rear safari windows from creative eng. brand new still in boxes never been used. new door handles with keys. new bullet indecators with clear lenses. new rear lenses and new front head lamps and new bulbs.

Rite the bits that need finishing.   fit front floor which iv got new. fit a small rear sill panel which iv got new. the front arch step on driver side which I bought a new full arch. and the floor in side has some patches so I was going to replace it but never got time to buy in.

Like I said ill keep it. don't need money. just want a good home for my baby. if you bid make sure you can pay for it. no tyre kickers I know what its worth. every thing you see in add goes with van. im starting bidding off at £8000 no reserve so someone may get a bagain. not just that but you will be getting a great van and when finished you will know it started off solid and it is not a van full of filler.

It may seem expensive but your having £1200 axel and brakes. £700 safari windows new. £600 of other new parts so the van is very cheap
