One of the Cutest Cars EVER!!!

1951 Nash Rambler Country Club Coupe

After World War II Americans were quite proud and their pride certainly entered into the design of all post-war cars with the philosophy that “bigger is better”.   In 1950 Chevrolet. Plymouth and Ford all grew in size and there became a need in the pecking order of cars to have an economy car.   The Nash-Kelvinator Corp was first to recognize this and came up with one of the niftiest little cars ever – the Nash Rambler.   For many people the Nash Rambler is forever embedded in their memories because in the post war Super Man series Lois Lane. Clark Kent/Superman's love interest drove a Nash Rambler convertible.   While we at MissChiTown really love the convertible. we think that the even cuter car is the hardtop Nash Rambler because you get the extra lines of the full metal top that just makes the sculpture of the car look totally in balance.

The car that you see before you is the 1951 Nash Rambler Country Club 2-door hardtop deluxe.   The car for sale here has had a cosmetically well-massaged restoration and mechanically seems to be running just fine.   It does have typical rust around the rear shackle mounts which the current owner has estimated to be about $800 - $1. 00 to fix and complete in a most professional manner.   It does appear also that it has had some floor board work done in the past and has been completed with metal and covered with undercoating to make it visually concealed.

You can see from the pictures that the car is a real charmer and the colors are just right for the car and it comes off as a car that shows extremely well as a beautiful street car.   If you took it to the local drive in there would many that would assume that it is a show car but in reality overall the quality is not that of a trailer queen.   The pictures however are true representation of how the car looks in person.   The interior was completely redone in Naugehyde as the original interior was also done in a Naughahydee.   The car appears to be 100% complete although the current owner is not familiar with the refined nuances of this particular model but the pictures seem to confirm that conclusion.

The owner has put an extremely low reserve on this car realizing that there is still some work to do on the rear suspension.

From our point of view this car does not have a bad view angle and everything seems to be in perfect balance.

Keep in mind that this was America's first compact car and because of it's relative success spurred the ‘big three” Ford. General Motors & Chrysler immediately thinking that they needed to go back to the drawing board and come up with their own compact cars which started to appear around 1955.   Chevrolet tried to answer with Corvair and Ford with the Falcon.   In 1955 the Ramblers were still going stronger then ever and would continue onto the latter 50s.

This is an excellent car for a museum or a driver.

We are aware of the fact that these little Ramblers are not only very desirable in the United States but also in Australia. New Zealand and some European countries like Sweden.   We are happy to try and cooperate with export agents to give them information to facilitate their jobs but we do not profess to experts in the export field.   Any foreign buyers should clear their bidding name with us before bidding.

When was the last time you saw a cuter car then this 1951 Nash Rambler Country Club 2-door deluxe?

Meet the “Country Club” (from Nash brochure)

The newest and smartest of hard top convertibles…a custom sports sedan…luxurious beyond words…compact in size…and with all that amazing performance. handling ease and economy that's made the Nash Rambler one of America's most popular new cars.

You've Never Seen Such Brilliant Styling…Known Such Amazing Economy and Performance.

1951 Nash Rambler – excerpts from the Internet

Nash introduced the Rambler in 1950 as its lowest-priced model at $1. 00. which wasn't cheap by any means. But buyers got a car that was loaded with standard equipment. including a radio. heater. courtesy lights. an electric clock. custom upholstery. wheel discs. and more. The Rambler was also the company's smallest model; in fact. its relative diminutive size. with respect to the rest of the Nash lineup (and indeed the entire American car market). made it one of the first compact cars.

The Rambler utilized a 100-inch wheelbase and weight wasn't more than 2. 00 pounds. As with other Nash models. the Rambler employed Airflyte construction. which was simply Nash's way of saying unibody. Whatever the name. the cars offered a strong and stiff build in a small package.

For 1951. Nash added models and trim levels to its all-star small car. A Custom Country Club two-door hardtop for those who preferred a solid roof. as well as a Suburban two-door wagon in Super trim. The cars made huge gains in the market this year. with production exceeding 70. 00 units.

You can park this next to any big classic like a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado at the local Friday night drive-in this summer and we can just about guarantee the bigger crowd will be around the little Nash Rambler – Beep!  Beep!
