THIS IS THE RAREST OF THE RARE! THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 1947 FORD "STAKEBED" PICK UP TRUCK. WITH THE RARE "FLATHEAD 8". AND THE ORIGINAL 4-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. (Most 1947 Pickup trucks came with a "Flathead' 6). THIS RARE CLASSIC WAS FORMALLY OWNED BY THE FAMOUS "KONA" COFFEE COMPANY THAT CAME FROM OUR 50TH STATE OF HAWAII. IN THE CITY OF HOLUALOA WHERE IT WAS DISPLAYED ON THEIR COFFEE PLANTATION. AND USED FOR DISPLAYS. PARADES. AND TO PROMOTE THE NATIONAL KNOWN COFFEE HULA DADDY'S 100% PURE KONA COFFEE (No. this is not a sales pitch. but their coffee does taste great!).

ANYWAY. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM THEM BACK IN 2010. WHEN THEY HAD THE TRUCK SHIPPED TO CALFORNIA FROM HAWAII. WHERE I HAD IT SHIPPED TO ME IN NEW YORK VIA ENCLOSED CARRIER.

THIS RARE CLASSIC HAS BEEN COMPLETLY RESTORED AS ORIGINAL AS IT WAS IN 1947. (See all 24 photos). WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THEM CONVERTING IT TO A 12 VOLT SYSTEM. (FROM A 6 VOLT SYSTEM. ) THEY ALSO INSTALLED A REAR BRAKE LIGHT. AS THE ORIGINAL BRAKE LIGHT WAS NOT ENOUGH ILLUMINATION IN THESE DAYS AND TIMES. AND FRONT DISC BRAKES. (because you would like to stop a little better today than in 1947!). ALSO. DURING THE RESTORATION. THE WOOD WAS REPLACED WITH VARISHED OAK. WHEN I RECIEVED THE TRUCK. I STARTING BRINGING IT TO SHOWS TO DISPLAY. BUT FOUND IT WAS DIFFICULT DRIVING IT ON THE PARKWAYS AND STREETS WITH NO TURN SIGNALS (There were no turn signals back in 1947 on the Ford trucks. so I was using hand signals. but let's be honest. in todays world. a majority of the population don't even know what they mean!). SO I INSTALLED "NOS" SIGNAL STAT TURN SIGNALS FROM A LATER YEAR TRUCK USING THE FRONT PARKING LIGHTS ON THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK. AND ADDED TWO ADDITIONAL LAMPS IN THE REAR. AND MAKING SURE THE INSTALLATION DID NOT INCLUDE ANY "CUTTING". DRILLING". OR HOLES OF ANY KIND. AND USING THE EXISTING HOLES ALREADY THERE TO KEEP THE TRUCK 100% ORIGINAL. I EVEN INSTALLED A STORAGE BENCH SEAT IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. with a very large seatbelt to hold 2 large adults. or 3 children). SO I COULD TAKE MY FRIENDS AND KIDS FROM THE BLOCK WHEN WE WENT CRUISING (see photos). EVERYTHING WORKS INCLUDING. THE ORIGINAL LARGE AMBER FOG LIGHTS. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER (Only came with one wiper for the driver). THE SPEEDOMETER. ODOMETER. PLUS THE FUEL. BATTERY. TEMP. AND ALT GAUGE. THE HORN. HEADLIGHTS. AND FRONT AIR VENT. IT EVEN HAS THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL & SHIFTING PATTERN FROM 1947.

THE "STAKEBED" IS COMPLETELY REMOVEABLE EITHER TAKING OFF ONE OR ALL OF THE SECTIONS TO MAKE IT AN "OPEN-BED" PICK-UP. THE SPEEDOMETER READS 63. 65 AND I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT IS THE TRUE MILAGE AFTER DOING RESEARCH. AND SPEAKING WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNERS. BUT I CANNOT VALIDATE IT.

DRIVING THIS TRUE CLASSIC IS LIKE STEPPING INTO A TIME MACHINE! JUST CRUISING DOWN THE STREET. PEOPLE TURN HEADS AND TAKE OUT THEIR CELL PHONES TO GRAB A PHOTO. I LOVE DRIVING IT. AND WITH THE ATTENTION I GET. IT'S TRULY A PIECE OF HISTORY THAT TIME FORGOT! LIKE THE MESSAGE I HAVE ON THE BACK BUMPER ABOVE THE LISENCE PLATE. "WHEN LIFE WAS SIMPLE".
