DESCRIPTION

Introduced in 1959 as a replacement to the 100-6. the new Austin Healey 3000 hit showrooms around the world.

Although. largely unchanged from the previous model by sharing the same chassis and body cues. the 3000-series became known affectionately as the “Big Healey”.

The first series. later referred to as Mark I's. were produced through 1961 and represent the 3000 in its purest form of a true roadster.

A flat windscreen. door side curtains. dual SU carburetion. Girling front disc brakes. and availability of a factory auxiliary hardtop.

They remain one of the most desired among enthusiastic Healey collectors today!

This gorgeous. late production 1961 Austin Healey 3000 BT 7 Mark I 2+2 Roadster in finished in desired two-tone Black upper and Red lower combination with Red leather interior and carpets! Under the hood lies the number's matching 2912 cc inline 6 cylinder engine with twin 1. 75” SU carburetors. mated to the original 4-speed transmission with optional electronic overdrive & wood shift knob! Fully loaded with all available factory options. this BT 7 is equipped with painted 60-spoke wire wheels. Vredstein S 80 roadspeed radial tires. two-tone paint scheme. adjustable steering column. Smiths heater & dash instrumentation. laminated windscreen. and Red auxiliary hardtop.

It was then further accessorized during the restoration with dual sport racing mirrors. leather wrapped steering wheel. chrome rear luggage rack. locking gas cap. full cabin tonneau cover. Falcon stainless steel exhaust system. and fitted rubber all season floor mats!

It was professionally restored in approximately 2004 with superb results. and careful attention to original detail.

The only modification noted was a full conversion to a negative ground electrical system.

All of the cloth covered wiring harasses are new from front to back.

The body was painted expertly with the two-tone color divider line precisely defined and clear coated over to leave no ridge edge.

No rust is present anywhere on the vehicle and the body gaps are tight.

The doors. hood. and trunk all open and close effortlessly.

Both the hard and soft tops also install without any frustration.

The drivetrain was completely rebuilt. along with the suspension. all new brakes. new tires. and exhaust system.

The complete interior was fully reupholstered with all new materials. with leather for the seating surfaces.

The original side curtains with sliding Plexiglas windows are included with storage bag. as well as all tiring changing equipment with knock-off protector. matching spare tire with appropriate hold-down and leather strap.

Today. the odometer reads 17. 65 miles which cannot be authenticated as original. so the car will be sold mileage exempt.

All features and accessories for the driver are fully functional including a quick responding overdrive.
