The Graduate. named in honor of the movie 'The Graduate' where an Alfa Romeo had a starring role. is a legendary Italian roadster born in the sixties.

It featured vinyl seats. steel wheels. and other amenities and the Alfa Romeo Spider (105/115 series) was produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo

from 1966 to 1993. Widely regarded as a design classic. it remained in

production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and

mechanical changes. The three first series were assembled by

Pininfarina in Grugliasco and the fourth series in San Giorgio

Canavese. The last Spider was produced in April 1993. it was also the

last rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo produced before Alfa Romeo 8 C

Competizione was introduced.

The Series 2 second generation spider (1970-83) came with a more powerful 1. 62 cc engine in 1972. Only 4. 83 cars were built in 1977. It had a cut off tail referred to known as the 'Kamm Tail' as opposed to the first generations distinctive elongated round 'Boat Tail'. It also had a newly designed grille. door handles and an improved interior trim.

The 5 speed manual transmission is one of the finest manual transmissions one can hope to find in terms of feel and spirit in any European sports car and these cars drive as good as they look. they have legendarily good handling and are everything a true sports car should be. never pretentious or ostentatious but always in style! If only every car could age as well as the Spyder. it makes it impossible to ever feel old driving one!
