This '70 Cyclone is truly a rare find. Just take a look at the Marti Report for the production numbers. Only 738 360 HP 429 s made their way into Cyclones! Only 243 of all Cyclones were painted in the 'Competition Orange'. You could easily break this one down further with options like the 3. 50 Trac-Lok. Disc Brakes and more. This is very likely a 1 of 1 car. Making it an even RARER car is the fact that this lucky Merc was delivered to Oakland. California and has lived its entire life in Sunny. Dry. Salt-Free. No Rain Havin. Metal Car Luvin California. The floors. quarters. frame rails and trunk are all B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L RUST FREE EXAMPLES!!! We have been in. on. under and over this car and it truly appears to be a rust free example.

A recent repaint of the Competition Orange was done to be a driver. There appears to be plenty of material and this one should look great for many years. There was a wet-sand and buff professionally done with just enough of the texture left to look like the original finish.

W hile not a perfect car. this one looks great and really turns heads when cruising!

Inside the interior has been treated to re-upholstered seats that were professionally done and are both comfortable and look great too. The carpet was replaced with a reproduction carpet kit that fits well. The original door panels look to be in good condition. The dash pad of course was in poor condition and was replaced with a good original. This is a good looking interior that really does not need anything but to be enjoyed.

The

N-Code 429 was factory rated at 360 Horsepower and 485 ft/lbs of torque. It is reported to have been overhauled approximately 20 k miles ago. It runs excellent and has that big block torque the 385-Series Big Blocks were known for. It fires up easily and has a deep note to the idle. The C 6 automatic transmission goes into gear quickly and shifts properly.

This Cyclone was ordered with a Nodular 9" 3. 50 Trac-Lok differential and 31 Spline axles. This was as tough of a differential as you could get. Any late model high performance 9" differential you can order now is based off of this case. So. as expected. it still works excellent 43 years later!

The wheels are brand new reproduction Magnum 500's that have been wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. With 235 60's in the front and Massive 295 50's in the rear this Cyclone looks just right!

Must see and drive

This is one rare and beautiful muscle car that is truly ready to enjoy!

I am the previous owner of this car. I owned it for 28 years. Just wondering where it is today and how it is doing.
