Ford Cortina mk 1 Woody Estate not vw camper Lotus Escort 1966 Rarest of the Rare
Here we have a 1966 Cortina Estate. are "Airflow" version. The car is MOTd taxed (free) and up and running. I took my step-son to college in it on Friday. nd have been out in it today.
Bad Points. The paint is worn. hipped. aded. Drivers side lower rear wing needs a repair(panel supplied). ear valance is starting to rust through. ront wing tops are lightly dented (though they are solid and have been replaced at some stage) all chrome work is not perfect bumpers will polish up well. oor handles are pitted head lamp retainers rusty. oor cards need replacing(or re-carding) and are with the car. ront carpet needs replacing(with the car) the exhaust manifold is blowing slightly and it is dripping oil slightly from the engine and rear axle.
This makes it sound a shed. its not.
The wood is real wood. hich could do with rubbing down and treating.
The good points. Its an Airflow Woody. robably the rarest of all Cortinas. t can be driven away now and gradually improved. The engine was re-built by the previous owner in the last couple of years (It has been at Stratford mk 1 meet every year driven without missing a beat)front. ear and rear side window seals have been replaced and the only advisory on the last MOT (September)was a slight brake oscillation that has cleared with use.
I will probably have missed something and peoples opinions vary. again. t is not a concours car. t is in use and needs a good clean and work. But its a Woody.
