1959 Chrysler Windsor original barn find 36,000 miles 59 Saratoga Imperial Mopar

This 1959 Chrysler if for the guy that appreciates original but not perfect.   

'Alice' was bought in Iowa and the original owner parked the car in her garage in 1968 with 33K original miles. It was discovered a few years ago and cleaned up and out back on the road. I have pictures of where it was found as well as paperwork from original dealer and a 3 ring binder full of old stuff related to this car.   It even has the original paper floormat the gas station used when it was getting serviced back in the day.   This is the most documented and honest 59 Chrysler Windsor I have ever seen.

When it was found. the motor was taken apart and rebuilt.   I have all receipts on the work and everything was done original and right.   The car is a beast and for a 4 door very peppy.   Tranny works great. exhaust was done as was brakes. bushings. seals. etc etc.   I have receipts for everything.

I'll break the car down by category :

Exterior - all original paint and only one spot on a rear door was painted up high.   The rest is the original factory paint and you can see by the pictures of when it was found it just needed cleaned.   There are scrapes on the sides from the original owners hitting the garage sides. but I would never paint it.   It's history.    Also one rock chip on windshield but the car is original !!! Most rock chips are on rockers as the owner lived on a dirt road.   Zero rust anywhere including underside !  Chrome is bright and nice.

Interior - original and unrestored.   I've had many people think it was redone but it was not. Again I have pictures of where it was found so no contesting it. It still smells like 1959 inside. no lie.   Even original front ( Western Auto type ) rubber floor mats.   Headliner is stellar !  Carpet has some spots on the hump wore out but I was told it was like that after it was cleaned.   Again. character for original.   Door panels and seats are awesomeness !!

Drivetrain - Original 383 4 barrel motor.   Runs like a champ.   I would drive this car anywhere today.   Tranny shifts smooth.   Brakes are like new. Tires are almost like new.   

Electrical - Everything works including radio. Heater works great.

-Things that have issues - Fuel gauge shows full all the time.   I bought a high dollar sending unit ( OEM type ) needs put in.   Also has one PS leak - small.   I bought the hose to fix it.   Also a high dollar OEM type.   Needs put on.   The leak is so minor it's never been a priority.

I drive the car to local shows. comes with a display board for display.   This car won an award in a Concours show for best of show a few years ago.

You could fly in and drive this car back to anywhere.

You will love this car if you love original but not perfect by any means.   You can restore any car. but they are only original once.
