You are bidding on a 1957 Chevrolet 150 Series Sedan Delivery with double stamped VIN tag. The numbers on the VIN tag are VD 57 O 168296 and C 57-391. This is painted a two-tone maroon and has a maroon velour interior. It has a 1969 215 hp 350 ci V 8 suffix VP and a 3-speed automatic. Some features include clock. power brakes. AM/FM/Tape with equalizer. Stewart-Warner Gauges (Volts. Temperature and Oil Pressure). Cigarette Lighter. MSD (ignition box. cap. wires. coil). Edelbrock (carburetor & manifold) and B&M shifter. This is a fairly unique little Chevy. It was purchased about 25 years ago by the current owner from California where it was customized back in the late 60 s to the way it looks today. The frame is a complete box frame from front to back and the front bumper is a one piece unit which I am told are found mainly on California production cars. The current owner informed us that this was the chase car for an identically painted drag car from the late 60 s to early 70 s called ‘The Door Slammer'. And from the research I have done. this may have initially been a government vehicle based on the double stamped VIN. ‘SPL' in the ACC line of the body tag and the 717 trim. It is believed that roughly 1. 00 of these Sedan Deliveries were produced by GM in 1957. But if anyone can verify these findings we would appreciate it.
