Offered for auction is this Shelby CSX 4000 alloy bodied continuation series SC Roadster. This is the alloy bodied continuation Cobra that only Carroll Shelby could build
a built Ford 427 FE side oiler with dual quads. The engine. dynoed at 582 horsepower. is mated to a proper top loader trans delivering power through the Salisbury syle rear axle. Other correct features included on this awesome example are: Halibrand Pin Drive alloy knock off wheels shod with Goodyear Eagle. period correct tires. alloy radiator and fuel tank with competition large diameter flip up aluminum fill cap.
Instrumentation is by a full complement of Smiths' era correct gauges. including the backwards speedo.
The alloy coachwork has never been painted and has always been bare aluminum. This Cobra is titled. registered and insured as a 1965 SHELBY COBRA.
This fat fendered. coil sprung Cobra is the closest you can hope to get to one of the original. Million Dollar +. Comp or SC original 'Shelby Cobras.
With the high demand for the early Cobras and the ever escalating prices. a CSX 4000 series alloy example really makes good investment sense.
