Ok where do I start. Some of you will recognise the car as being one of the few remaining BMW E23 B10 Alpina's. This one is a manual from 1985. As you can see by the pictures the car is being restored. I brought it 7 years ago and slowly but surely have been working through a very comprehensive restoration.
First the history. I have all the cars records from new. It was supplied by Stocks in Ipswich to the chairman of Fisons the chemical company. As you can see in the pictures the car had its full running in service and was listed as an Alpina from the start. The guy must have loved it because it was well driven over the next 2 years. And he ordered the sports seats from new. From there it went to Horsham. Where in 1991 it had a complete engine rebuild. I have the bill which was over £5k which would have been an enormous sum then. However because of the bill being on fax paper its hard to see exactly what was done. So I can't be sure. But since then the car has only done 30k miles. As I have never had the car on a rolling road I can't say what exactly the power output is but was told by a previous owner it was extremely quick. Also as this was an SE the came came with a moon sunroof and air con.
There were 2 more owners who laid the car up. I brought it and wanted to restore it. Since I've had it. I've done the following; Cut out all the rust ( plenty of pictures of all of this ) replaced any rotten metal with genuine BMW parts. Like sills. wheel arches and more. The car was then sent to a painters where all the glass was taken out and a bare metal respray in its original BMW colour. I replaced the front wings. bonnet. boot lid and all 4 doors with either new BMW parts or second hand perfect spares. While this happened I had the very rare original black leather sports seats repaired and made to look like new.
The car  was then ready to put back together. For this over the years I had stripped 3 spare e23's of all their relevant good parts or brought brand new from ebay. New body parts included. new front and rear chrome and bumper. I had the original fibre glass spoiler copied in a mould and a much stronger plastic copy made. All new mouldings from BMW and much much more.
Now the car is with a restorer finishing of. The first thing they did was to put on a ramp and literally replace everything underneath. It has new ABS hubs. sensors. discs. bushes. suspension arms etc. The trailing arms and the cross members were all taken away and treated. New prop shaft with all parts. the callipers were sent to be re-done. You could eat your dinner of the bottom of the car. I have a mountain of receipts from BMW Park lane where I have always brought new parts for the car. The bill has been enormous.
I could keep going with the description but its too long. Its been in several of the BMW magazines and has been invited to many shows when completed. So why am I selling it? Well its not far of an MOT now and I have started a new business and therefore need seed capital. hence the reluctant sale. If it fails to meet my expectations then I shall carry on and find the money elsewhere.
Before you all ask as I've been a bit light with the interior pictures. Yes it does have the correct plaque. yes its been checked that its real with alpina/Sytners. Yes it has the correct steering wheel. albeit in need of some love. The dials have the Alpina writing as per the norm. The wooden Alpina gearnob is present. The wheels are all correct and in good shape. Even have a matching spare.
Whats left to do. Put back some of the unique wooden interior. Check the motor and gearbox. I didn't respray the engine bay when I did the car so its a bit messy as I wanted to drive the car around while it was possible during restoration. So will need engine out for that. All parts as far as I'm aware are there to complete the car.
More than happy to answer any questions and supply more pictures. Oh and lastly the exhaust. that's a power flow one a previous owner put on the car. fantastic sound and guaranteed for life. But I do have an original one that goes with the car.
Many thanks for reading the novel
