The First Generation Ford Thunderbirds are iconic and have a timeless design, and they're a significant part of automotive history. This 1956 Thunderbird is a high-quality example of this symbolic car. The Thunderbirds were introduced in 1955 by Ford when the two-seater roadster was back and trending in the American market, becoming an instant success. In the second year of production, two of the changes introduced were the “porthole” windows in the hardtop, improving visibility when the top was in use, and the Continental Kit, an external spare tire mounted on the rear bumper, to increase the original trunk space in the Ford Thunderbird.

Originally designed and manufactured to compete with the Corvette, the Ford Thunderbird is a classic two-seater convertible from the 50's boosting with style & personality that quickly & easily outsold its competitor.
