Vehicle Details

One of a kind 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Station Wagon. This was ordered from Franklin Cadillac in Cincinnati, OH, one of several dealerships authorized to sell these Wisco-customized vehicles. At the time Wisco was located in Roseville, MI and had an agreement with GM to provide custom coachbuilt cars such as this. A photo of one of their brochures is shown. Customized right off the Cadillac assembly line in the Wisco plant and then brought by carrier to the dealership for delivery to the original owner WITH FULL CADILLAC WARRANTY. That is the huge difference between these types of custom vehicles and something done aftermarket. The relationship between Cadillac and Wisco was very similar to the one between Chevrolet and Callaway to customize the Corvette. Wisco was most known for the "SuperFly" Coupe Deville of the early to mid 70s but they also produced a few station wagons and shooting brakes like you see here. This car is exactly the same as any other 1975 Eldorado from the front bumper to the back seat (except for the roof line obviously). It has the stock 500 cubic inch engine with the 4 bbl carb, mated to the stock front wheel drive transmission. Behind the back seat, however, there is a cargo area with a rear-facing THIRD ROW SEAT making this the world's only 8 passenger Eldorado ! An Escalade several decades before there was an Escalade ! This 3rd row folds flat for a nice sized cargo floor with hidden storage underneath. You may have seen four door RWD station wagons based off the Sedan Deville or Fleetwood, they were also rare but much more common. There were probably 150-200 rear wheel drive Cadillac wagons made from the late 1960s to possibly the early 1990s. NONE were factory... they were all customized by some other company besides Cadillac or General Motors. HOWEVER the two door, front wheel drive Eldorado wagon is MUCH MORE OBSCURE, rare and unique. In my research I have come up with evidence of less than 15 vehicles TOTAL from 1968-1976 when the body style was ended by GM. If your buddy says he's seen lots of them he's lying or just misinformed. Even an online search won't turn up much. Heck most people don't even KNOW these vehicles exist. At every show, gas station or other location there's always people who start a conversation about the car. Even some old guys who have been going to car shows for 50 years likely haven't seen one. WANT TO BE PRACTICALLY GUARANTEED TO BE THE ONLY ONE AT A CAR SHOW WITH YOUR VEHICLE? This is the car to have. Ask yourself this... how many Cadillac Station Wagons have you seen (don't count the CTS). Now ask yourself how many of those were ELDORADO WAGONS? The answer is going to be ZERO. From my research (in my many years of owning this car) I believe there's only a handful of these left on the planet. The good - the car runs great, it's very reliable, always starts, and the engine runs quiet and strong. The transmission shifts as it should. The vinyl top is original and in excellent condition, no visible tears, gaps or rust bumps from underneath. The paint appears to be original and has a nice shine. The factory radio and 8-track player work as do the power windows. Heat and blower/fan work. Headlights, taillights, signal lights all function properly. Nice original interior is clean and neat, very nice for a car this age. We drive the car often to local shows and it always draws a lot of attention. The bad - the door lock in the driver's door stuck and was disconnected. The AC needs a charge but the blower works as does the heat. The cruise control doesn't work. Small split in the driver's armrest but no chunks missing. Being a car with 47 year old paint there are some areas of minor bubbling that need attention, and some areas where the paint appears to be a little thin. The hood hinges could use a rebuild, the rear of the hood sticks up a little...very common with these cars, the rivets in the hinges get worn or loose. No dents, the car is straight as an arrow, it appears to have never been hit. This car is for sale locally, so I may end the auction at any time if the car is sold. I am a collector NOT A DEALER so there's no extra fees. There's also no warranty, refunds or returns. Please ask all questions BEFORE BIDDING 516 three nine five 6017 is how I can be reached. I have owned the vehicle for many years (along with lots of others) but now it's time to downsize the collection. You can pick the car up in Orange County NY after full payment is made and cleared by my bank. Many payment methods accepted, please inquire before bidding. No problem working with your vehicle transport company, I've shipped vehicles all over the country as well as to Europe. Obviously shipping is at your cost. I have clear title in my name and will sign that title once the vehicle is fully paid for. The car runs and drives very well, so after full payment is made and clears my bank if you'd like to fly in and drive it home no problem. Mileage listed is approximate as I do drive the car now and then on nice-weather days (never in rain or snow).
