This is a rare Jeep, one of 230 Jeep Scramblers made for the Alaskan Postal Service.  Original key tag indicates which one of the bunch this one was (#88), and the Mail tray and mail bulk head are included, as is the cargo net, all of which are in very good shape.  Postal Scramblers have some unique features - Full length metal hard top (this one is in excellent shape), rear door (also present in international overlander units) and uniquely shaped driver/passenger doors (also on international overland) and are right hand drive. This Jeep was purchased when sold from Alaskan postal service to be utilized as a rural mail delivery unit in Flagstaff, AZ up until 2008/2009 when it was replaced in service due to brake issues.  It appears to me that the proportioning valve was bad (fluid freely leaked out of it).  While removing the proportioning valve a double flared fitting was destroyed, so that fitting on the brake line needs replaced. This unit had a mail tray where the left hand seat would be in a typical Jeep, so it only comes with the one driver seat (which has been very thoroughly used).Rust present over rear wheel wells and under drivers feet.  Frame appears to be in generally good shape compared to the Scrambler I restored years ago.  Appears to have a gun shot hole next to the speedometer which adds a little extra character to the Jeep.  Generally, very close to original parts (perhaps upgraded carb, typical other maintenance).  Front drive shaft appears to be missing (I haven't found it in my parts bin so far).  My daughter removed the original insulating foam from the inside of the hard top (you're welcome) so the hard top has never been removed from this Jeep.  The rear door has some rust/cracking that will require repair.  Has a matching spare tire. When I purchased this vehicle as a project for my kids in 2019, the engine ran well enough to push the Jeep forward, but without breaks I winched it up on a trailer instead of taking chances.  I haven't worked on the engine since.Original set of 4 wheels is available instead of this set of 5 with better tires if interested.  The tires I had were too wide for the narrow postal wheels. This Postal Scrambler is a unique vehicle that will garner attention once you get it on the road and/or trail.  I had big hopes for this thing but life dictates spending my time on other things.
