1969 Mustang Mach 1, 4 speed, Blue w/ Black for sale
Current customer rating:
This is a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I. unit #217226. built July 7 th. 1967 in Dearborn. MI.
Engine codes is M = 351 4 v V 8. it's a Windsor with an autolite 4 barrel carb Tag = C 9 ZFC. block casting is 9 F 11 and (690 B 6015 B this is very difficult to see without pulling the starter). engine carb and exhaust manifolds appear to be original. The engine starts and runs strong. good compression and looks nice and clean. some minimal oil leakage from bottom (like any older engine that hasn't been rebuilt recently).
Transmission code is 6 = 4 speed close ratio. The tag shows RUG-AG. and 014958. I have no issues with the transmission or clutch and to the best of my knowledge it's solid.
Rear Axel code is 9 = 3. 25 ratio. conventional. The tag shows WES-AD 9 FC
3 . 25

955 A.
Body code is 63 C = Sports Roof. Mach 1. Deluxe Interior with Color code 65 = Acapulco Blue Metallic w/flat black hood. It is in good condition. but not perfect condition. I've had a couple of “car people” look the car over and they think the rear quarters are original but probably had some work on bottom edge. The rear deck and metal around windows all looks original. The two front fenders and hood look original and stamped 6 18 D 3. 6 21 D 3. There is bubbling or rust under the paint on the lower edge of door corners and both in front of and rear of doors (see photos). The car has been repainted prior to me owning it ( May 2002). It's the original color and stripes except the hood black is a gloss and not the flat black as originally used. The bumpers have new chrome and most of the trim has been replaced or is in good condition. but again not show car condition. The floor pan looks to be original but is very heavily covered with undercoat. I have not pulled the carpet out to look at the floor pan. I've been told it's probably original and probably would need work if you're looking for a show car. For me it's solid and doesn't effect the fun I have with the car.
Interior looks very nice with new covers on front bucket seats. rear seat looks good and is the fold down / pass through seat. Carpet. head liner and dash all look very good. All gages work Except for odometer.
The radio. and heater work. There is no air conditioning. There is wear on the driver's side interior door at the hand grip. looks like the vinyl has given out from use and age at the hand grip.
I've owned this car for 11 years. Bought it out of Mississippi. I have taken great care of it and fixed a few things along the way. new tires. custom exhaust. added air shocks. Always stored in my garage in the summer and barn in the winter.
Mechanically this car is solid and mostly original. Look at it's value on NADA or Hagerty Valuation Tool.

Corrections and additional info:
Built July 7 th. 1969 not 1967
Engine codes is M = 351 4 v V 8. it's a Windsor. To confirm this is a windsor. the engine has 6 bolt valve covers. horizontal fuel pump bolts and the water hose goes to the intake manifold. Also. the "M" engine code does not mean it's a 351 "Modified" which were built after 1970 from a 400 engine.
